What i normally find is that 6-8 hours is enough for me. Ive heard people say in newspapers and things that that is the recommend daily amount of sleep but i think it proabably depends on the person. I do believe age is a factor as younger people and older people probably need more sleep but your lifestyle as well, for example if you are really busy throughout the day then you may need more sleep than others to regain more energy ready for another day ahead.

Even 9 hours also too much of sleep lol. perfect sleeping timings is 5 to 6 hrs per day for healthy person. if person in week they should sleep 8 hours.
