Many of the dishes I prepare now I learned from a cookbook. However, let me give credit where credit is due. My mother is the one who taught me how to follow a recipe. She also taught me what to do if you are out of a certain ingredient or it ends up tasting bland. Many times I use the recipe as a guideline only and cook the way my mother taught me.

I learned from my mom. Then i used to read and follow recipe books and watch "Iron Chef" once in a while. Cooking is really a great hobby.

Sort of from all over, really. From my father, from my friends, from cooking shows on television, from recipe books, from trial and error... there was really no single place I learned anything. And I'm still learning now, mostly from recipe books and the Food network.

I learned how to cook from my parents. My dad is the big cook in the house so I use to watch him cook when I was younger.

I learned cooking by observing my parents how they cooked. But I had my actual cooking when I had to go out of town for 4 months. Well, maybe it's in the blood! I do read some cookbooks as guides to the basics.
