What is your favorite cheese and how do you use it?

I am a cheese freak! My absolute favorite is Asiago cheese and I love to use it in cooking and with breads. It is actually a "modern" version of "peccorino" cheese. Of course the traditional cheeses, like cheddar and swiss and mozzarella and provolone are great too! I honestly think there are very few cheeses I would say I don't like! LOL

cheese is to life as water is to fish. i love cheese. i will eat and enjoy your standard, grocery store cheese...i.e. cheddar, swiss, asiago, brie, mozzarella, feta. however, to truly enjoy cheese you've got to go to the little speciality store in town that sells cheese for 17 dollars a pound and up. it's worth the price and really, who's buying a pound of cheese? usually, you get 2-3 different kinds at a 1/4 pound each. totally worth it.
try some of these: morbier, taleggio, stilton, triple-cream french brie, manchego, gorgonzola, camembert, brie de meaux, port salut, smoked gouda... i could go on and on. now this is real cheese!

omg.. i SO agree with u... go to the specialty shoppes and get the GOOD cheeses! We are lucky enough to have a great cheese shoppe here locally that imports tons of cheeses into our local grocery. You can buy the "inexpensive" versions.. but they also offer the "good stuff" for those of us who can accept the challenge of a second mortgage to support our habit! lol

i would have to say that chedder cheese is my most davorite cheese. i could put chedder on everything i think. i also like blue cheese aswell though, i,m not talkin about the dressing either, i am referring to the blue cheese crumbles that you con buy. i but onn of those , open it & sit it in the fridge, every time i open the refridgarater door , i grab myself a tasty little blue cheese morsil,or two,or three.

Blue cheese is sooooo very pungent! I do like it, but only in certain dishes. And I do love it on a salad! Feta cheese is a much milder version, similar to blue cheese and crumbly that I prefer over blue cheese in many ways. It may be that I've never had the blue cheese in a 'proper' way though!

I love the crumbly white cheeses, things like Wensleydale and Caerphilly, but I also like the cooked cheeses like Mozarella and Halloumi. Halloumi is one of my current favourites, cut into cubes, fried and served as part of a warm salad its really delicious. I'm planning on making my own cheese soon, I've made soft cheese before now but I want to move on to making hard cheese so taht I can experiment with new types and flavours easily. Yummy.

Isn't it wonderful what you can do with cheese too? I will have to try the fried Hallomi in a salad! Do you bread and fry it or batter and fry it?

I am lactose intollerant - but I can eat some cheese. I can eat cheddar and swiss with no problems. Mozerella and soft cheeses have a bad effect on me.
I love to make grilled cheese sandwhiches out of baby swiss - and dip them in salsa. It's really good.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE cheese! I am surprized sometimes that my head doesn't look like a wheel of cheddar! lol
I have a great love for sharp cheddar. I would live off of it if it didn't leave me constipated after too much of it! lol
I also love Havarti Dill. That is some yummy stuff!

Wow, I haven't even heard of Asiago or Peccorino; didn't know there were so many cheeses around. I love them all but my favorite is, baby swiss. I can eat it right out of the pkg. I'll even make a grilled cheese with it; sounds strange but boy, is it good!

Oh heck, there's not a cheese around that won't make a great toasted cheese sandwich! LOL
Panera Bread offers an asiago cheese bread and an asiago cheese bagel. Both rock! It will give you an idea of what it is like. Of course the taste range is huge, depending on how it's aged, etc.

I love American cheese more than any other type of cheese although Swiss cheese is good to me. I like American cheese in all of my sandwiches, burgers or subs. That is my first choice and then Swiss cheese would be my second favorite. I do not dislike any cheeses either.

MY fav cheese is Colby. I use it in everything you can imagine, from grill cheese to salads. If I could have a second choice it would be provalone. mm mm good :) I am lactose intolerant, but I can't leave dairy products alone. lol :)
