My babies are a bit old for that now - all teenagers - but I always sang to them as babies. Whether to sleep or just while changing their nappes, etc. They loved hearing me sing and they all love music now too. The songs for sleep time were more mellow than at other times, soft songs to help them sleep. Sometimes I made them up.

I use to rock them and sometimes sing to them when they were babies. I preferred to rock them though.

I used to do that with my daughter when she was brand new. It was really fun to do that and I have enjoyed it too.

I have always done that. In fact i still do that today and my youngest is 4 lol i think i do it more for me than them but then again i love to sing. I find my youngest singing all the time now. My oldest was just in a musical with the local theatre so it must have paid off.

When our first child was born she had one night where she was very fussy. We had overfed her, we didn't know that was her problem at the time, and we tried everything to get her to stop crying and go to sleep. My husband had to work in the morning so I said that I would stay up with her until she fell asleep. I was trying to rock her and finally thought that maybe I would sing to her. I'm a horrible singer though and when I started she put her hand up to my mouth ... she was just a newborn, so I'm sure she didn't know what she was doing ... but I got the hint just the same!

Yes sining to your baby promotes a bond between you and your little one!! Singing to them also stilulates there brain growth and developement. This is why reading from day one and inside the womb is the best for you and your little one!! Good luck!!

yes, i used to sing to my daughter when she was still an infant. when she was 1 1/2 years old, my mom bought us this CD that calms a baby and puts her to sleep, I use that till now and sing along with it when I put her to sleep.
As for my 5-month old son, I still sing to him, but what really puts him to sleep is patting him while saying "ssshhh".. I think it relaxes him.

i am not a mother yet but definetely do that when i'll be...
i think to be a mother is the god's biggest gift to a girl.
i wud love to soon have experience of a mother because love and bonding that a mother shares with her child can not be compared to any kind of love but unfortunately i am not the one getting it but promise to be one of the best mother a child could ever have......
