Job Interviews stink.

I hate job interviews. I just returned from my second interview. Although I felt the interview went quite well, I still left with that feeling of doubt. There may be a third interview. And if not, someone would call me. Now, I wait. I wonder. I doubt. I anticipate. I breathe.

Please don't fret. You will no doubt end up exactly where you are meant to be. Remember, they are not only interviewing you, you are interviewing them. Keep going no matter what. Consider each interview good practice for the next one you have to do.

There ya go. And I was not 100% happy with the interview. I had thought the job was M-F only. This guy tells me he needs someone to work every other weekend. I have to contact the person who first interviewed me to see if there are other options for me.

It's really hard to wait for an answer when so much of your life hangs in the balance. But I can tell that you are an articulate, intelligent person with a lot to offer, and you are going to find the right job. I'll have my fingers crossed that you get the call you're hoping for. I'm waiting for such a call myself. Not about a job, but still something that will drastically change my entire life, so I know how awful the anticipation can be.

I hate job interviews too ! I learn quickly, work hard, I'm dependable, and lots of other great qualities, but I just don't like to sit there and have to sell them on me. I'm no good at it. Good Luck !

Poor Butterfly, I know how horrid it feels to be in that position! One of my daughters is going through that now. She is almost 40 and it is so difficult for her. Just keep breathing. ~Donna

well you are always in doubt about the future outcome, job interviews are the worst, they try to criticize you in every manner and then call you many times again just to be certain to check whether you are suited for job, and mind you they do this as if they are doing you a favour, when its you who is doing them by working for them....this makes us anxious and sad

My philosophy on interviews is that if you are rubbish then you wont get the job and will never have to see the interviewer again anyway and if you are really good you will get the job. Either way there is nothing to worry about. Sort of takes the pressure off when you think about it like that.

You should always remain positive and confident while you are interviewing and after you interviewed. If they call you for a third interview, that would tell me that you did well and have a very good chance of getting hired. We should think positive and think that they will call you to speak to you some more. If you do not get a third interview, then that is their loss and there are other jobs out there and someone will hire you.

There was yet another opening in the same agency and it is M-F, just what I am looking for. I am going to inquire about that on Monday. The agency is closed for the weekend. Or better yet, I will send an email!

Its hard not knowing where you stand. Though I wish you the best of luck and hope you get to go back for a third on. *hugs* Relax though for now since there isn't much you can do about it.

I feel your pain, I hate the waiting part. You've done great so far, so try not to worry. Besides you have so many of us wishing you luck, it will be a breeze. :-)

I think it is always like this with interviewing. There is always the nervousness that goes on with the anticipation of waiting to hear about the job. All you can do is your absolute best. Best of luck to you!

I hate them too. I especially hate having a second and even third one. I didn't want to mention this in your other discussion because I didn't want to seem negative. But I can't stand the agonizing wait. Wondering if it was good, bad or indiferent. I never know how to feel after an interview, sometimes you think it went badly or so,so and the interviewer thinks you were great. So, I'm sending you prayers of patience and luck.. I hope you do get the job. I would say try not to think about it, but I know that wouldn't work for me.

Hang in there. Having spent time working in HR, I can tell you there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes to choose the right candidate. You are obviously one of the final candidates or you would have never gotten a 2nd interview. If the interview was with the same person, it is likely you are among the final 2 or 3. If it was a different person you interviewed with, the first person was impressed and is looking for a 2nd opinion. Depending on the type of work and the level of responsibility, you may have to interview with several people. The choice will be a joint decision. This isn't uncommon. I know it can be agonizing, but there are so many variables involved. Be patient. If you can get a 2nd interview with this company, it is likely you will be able to do this elsewhere. Employers need good employees just as much as people need to find work. Good luck. If you have any questions, let me know. I also have a website and a blog that provide information for subjects like this. The website is www.givemebigmoney.com and the blog is givemebigmoney.blogspot.com/

You know that I empathize with you and know exactly how you're feeling fight now! I went through almost 2 months of this waiting and wondering, all for the same job. If employers even knew what they put us through... Hang in there. Being called for the second interview is a good sign, and being told that there may be a third interview continues to show that they are interested in you. Go with your gut feeling that everything went well and that you WILL get this job. Enjoy your time now, because you will most likely be back to work again soon!

I know that feeling all too well... reviewing in your mind everything that was asked and answered... did I say the right thing? did I answer the way they wanted me to? Keep your confidence high and keep on with that breathing, ElusiveButterfly! If all the good wishes here at myLot could influence the decision, you'd already have the job many times over! :) :)

yes, i just know how you feel. I was on a job interview 2 months ago and first there were 600 candidates for 5-6 positions , then they eliminated 400 and i was called for a second interview and for another elimination, which i passed and finally i was called, together with 50 other candidates, for a third round of interview with writing tests. And i have received NO ANSWER Since!and i know that they employed some people! The candidate that failed the first and second interview were at least notified by letter! So i understand you hate job interviews, but they are something we just have to do!
