Internet Affairs - Have you had one?

Have any of you married people met someone online by accident, started talking as friends and then realized that you had alot in common.. then before you knew it, you were having an online relationship or affair with them? What happened? Did you end it? Did your spouse find out? Do you regret it? Did you ever meet them in person? Please share, I'm curious.
(no I'm not having an online affair, I just want to understand how people end up in these types of relationships.)

I met someone online 4 years ago, we started chatting in a chat room, and moved to private messaging. We were both married at the time, my marriage fell to pieces about a year after we met, he is still married and I would expect his spouse never to find out. We met after 18mths. Neither of us regret it. It was the best thing that could have happened to me as he boosted my confidence to a point that I could escape a bad marriage. We've shared a lot and I can see us staying together online forever.
