What did you want to do when you grew up? Have you achieved your dreams?

In my case, I wanted to be an inventor, make flying cars.
Next, a spaceman wanted to fly to the galaxy next door and annihilate the Bozmos or whatever... and as I grew older, the aims changed, until I found myself desiging and manufacturing tailor made equipment in the engineering field. I even desigened materials handling robots when most people had not heard of robots. Today, I am retired from that and I manage financial portfolios and insurance, besides writing for a number of publications. So care to share your life?

When I was nine, I wanted to become a fashion designer. I cut out paper dolls, made paper dresses, designed gowns and shirts and casual wear :) Then I moved on to dreaming about becoming a writer. Eventually, I did become a writer. But I think a few more yeas from now, I'll be starting a business. Perhaps an RTW biz :)

well, when i was still in my high school days, i've always wanted to become a lawyer, but parents did not want me to pursue that career so now i'm here, taking some review to classes to gain my engineer title in telecoms. the career that i took right now is promising as i can see, but, i still am planning to take up law in the near future. :)

i do think i achieved my dreams. at least one of them. i wanted to be a hairstylist since i was a little girl. i would play with the "velvet" and "crissy" dolls, (the ones where the hair grows longer when you press a button, and the hair comes out longer) we went through many of those extra hair replacements for them! i think those dolls are actually responsible for my career!

I dreamed of an art career, but there wasn't any money back then to send me. I also wanted a family and that i got.:) A wonderful husband and 3 kids. I ahve since lost my husband but am remarried and life is on a different track. I own my own business and we also own another business. Two of my kids, 23 & 24 still live at home and we still enjoy being a close family. So, even though I did not get what I dreamed of in that one way...I have been blessed even more with the people I have in my life and my ventures. I like my life.

Good for you, i think in a way you "did" achieve that childhood dream of yours.
When i was a kid i wanted to be many things. I had always wanted to be a journalist when i was a kid. And i wanted to be a businesswoman that everyone looks up to. I wanted to write, write, and write, fictions and not. But i don't know how i ended up in Computer Science course in college. Yeah, i liked it pretty fairly. But my true passion is still writing. When the time comes, i'm going to make that childhood dream comes true. I'm trying not to lose faith.

when i was young my ambition was to become a doctor of medicine cause i wanna help the sick people. i also wanted to be an astronomer cause i wanna see the world beyond our planet. but now i am an engineer so i guess i deviated much from my dreams but who knows i can be a doctor of philisophy instead and have a shot to be an astronomer someday. we just have to keep on dreaming then.

Hi. When I was growing up I wanted to get into the business of computer repair. I have never got to do that as of yet. I didn't go to college either, which I truly regret. Mom didn't help me through that matter, but anyways. I have worked several places since graduating high school, including housekeeping all the way up to repairing gas engines in a factory LOL and I am now a stay at home mom and I like to earn from the computer.

You've had a very colorful life. Mine isn't. I have learned to accept the fact that goals are there for us to try to achieve. If we get them, we should be happy we did. If we fail, just go on with life, failures happen to most people anyway. I wanted to be a doctor so I can help in alleviating people's pains or become an excellent agriculturist so I will matter in the field of feeding the world. I did not come close to any. I became a licensed civil engineer. Lately though, I managed to get myself a farm, however, I cannot be at it fulltime. Many occurrences are stopping me from giving it my full attention. Too bad.

When I was in prep school I would religously recite that "When I grow up I would like to be an announcer in TV". Didn't come true. When I went to Highschool I would dreamt of becoming an Archeologist. I didn't happen either. When I got to college I wanted to join the military service. And guess what I became? I worked as a full time School Counselor.

When i was younger i was always helping my mum with baking cakes and helping with dinner. I loved helping her out loved smelling the food that we made so i wanted to become a cook or a chef, Now i am 20 years old i have started my carrer as an apprentice chef. I only have 2 more years left to go, currently it is on hold as i have a son who is one years old and has downs syndrome, So he needs all the help he can get with taking him to physio and hoospital check ups it is a bit hard for me to continue with my career. But i have started my dream from when i was a young girl it is just on hold.

I remember me saying "I want to be a teacher" during my kindergarten recognition day. But I didn't not become one, I end up as a banker. Someday, if i have the time, i'll try to pursue that dream of mine.
