I don't get it. WHY are we being paid? Where does the money come from? Why would anyone want to promote a website that's basically full of crappy stupid conversations posted by people who really don't care that much about what they're posting?
(Yes, including me)

Or just trying to generate content - any content - to get paid.

If you go back to like 4-5 months ago the site was not set up like this. People came here to ask questions that they could not find answers to. The unique users we have now didn't start until they started paying people.

Interesting, and thanks for the info. That actually explains a lot.

The point(s) are that you can speak your mind, make new friends, and get PAID in the process. How the administration or owners make their money isn't my business. My business is to make posts that aren't one liners and to start good threads. If people are unhappy with some of the quality of the posts on here, and I agree some are really lame, then lets work together to change it and make it better.

IF YOU ARE to shallow even if it has nothing to do with you...mabe some people have things to talk about things to get off there chests...you cant handle that? I mean the world goes round and round,,,and sometimes you are not the subject on evrery 1's mind ok?

So is the idea to post a lot? To post things that generate lots of responses?
Regardless, it's clear that more is better, or at least more gets you more money. So when the system is set up to reward quantity and not quality, that that's what you end up with - lots of quantity, spotty quality??
How is this offensive?

Speak for yourself. What is YOUR point of being on mylot?

Uh, I was speaking for myself, hence I was asking a question, soliciting opinions and thoughts.
Why am I here? Checking it out.

Well unless you were refering to yourself as 'crappy stupid people'.

no, it was crappy stupid CONVERSATIONS
and PEOPLE who don't care much.
yes, I'm one of those people who don't care much. Which is, oddly enough, why this is fun.

I like MyLot a lot. That`s why it`s a good place. You can express your own opinion and at the same time, make money for it. You meet different people from all ages, and from all over the world.

I thoroughly enjoy my lot when I have the time for it. you get to meet new people and get their opinions on things. I don't post stuff I don't care about so speak for yourself.

I was, actually, speaking for myself. But there are plenty of posts that are obviously just attempts to boost post count or generate responses, or just take up space.
I actually enjoy it somewhat, too. It's refreshing for me to participate in an online discussion group where I know nobody and, because I have no vested interest in anything, don't really get too emotionally involved in the conversations.
I just don't GET it. Maybe I'm thinking about it too much. There's just a lot lot of junk to weed through.

actually I'm far far from a newbie online, lol. I've been running websites since back when you had to type in a number! This website just seems very strange, to me, but it appears that I just don't have the right mindset...

We can do a lot of things here. We can ask questions for which we want answers, discuss important matters, answer someone else's questions. So you see there are a lot of positive things which we can make use of at mylot, and get paid at the same time. However I wonder, how does mylot make money in order to pay us. Any ideas??
