Why do woman goto temples more than men?

I have always thought that women were closer to the divine than men are. That is why I prefer to worship god in the feminine or goddess form. Women seem less often to suffer from the drive to conquer and thirst for power. There are exceptions of course in this century as women have for the most part gained equality with men, some have become just as cold and ruthless as their male counterparts.
