Several flea deeps and weekly bug bombings of your house for a month..to ensure you kill all the fleas and eggs...and of course you cannot let out the cat to the outside..

I agree, someone I know has just been through the vicious cycle of fleas almost as if they jumped from dog to cat to avoid the flea powder!

Front line is what I use if you don't want to use chemicals on your cat amixture of lemone juice and water can kill them it is 10 to 1 1% juice to 10 water .Also vacum the house remove and throw away any bags in vacum between times or right after you vacum as flea eggs can live there .It is best to not only treat the cat but the house as well if the cat goes out side you well just about have to use something like front line as it well keep bringing in new fleas . Treat all your pets if you have more then one at the same time .If you bath your cat you can use dawn dish washing liquid mixed with water 15 to 1, 1 dawn to 15 water don't get this in eyes and rence well it well kill all fleas on the pet but not repel new ones .

Use borax (a laundry aid booster) on your carpets. Just sprinkle it on all carpets, make sure you get up along the walls, then take a broom and sweep it into the carpets. It's safe for pets and it will dry out the fleas and larvae. It works for a long time too. My vet told me about it and I did it about a year ago and haven't had any problems since then. Once you get them out of your house, keeping them off your pet is easier.

Have you tried Program or Advantage? They are both prescription medications from the vet. You mix them with food , and they take care of the fleas.

frontline drops are good, as is the house spray u get from the vets. its more expensive than the shops but thats only because its stronger and does actually work! garlic tablets for cats are also good as they improve ur cats health aswell as repel the fleas

I used the flea, tick, and lice powder, Not only do I apply it to the cat as the instructions say. I also apply it to their bedding, and around the ground of the porches. My Cats are outdoor cats and kittens, so it's a little harder to treat them... I get the water proof flea, tick, and lice powder and treat them every few weeks it keeps them safe, althought sometimes it makes the black cats look funny :) .. at first when I rub it in... The stuff I buy is usually 5 dollars for a case... I also ask the pet store people what they recommend usually the customers will tell them what they liked or used, but I think the best is the Front Line... or Advantage.. however of indoor cats and dogs, the entire house needs to be treated just as it would with lice.. - DNatureofDTrain

Flea powder a good start! Although cleaning -everything- in the room that the cat has been in as the eggs could be around and it'll turn into an endless cycle.

Use advantage or frontline. I have a cat that is allergic to flea bites and rips her fur off itching. Since I started using advantage on her once a month, she is fine.

Hi with my cats and dogs I give them a flea bath with flea shampoo every 7 days...that's what the shampoo says to do. I also vaccuum constantly cuz they can get in your carpets and hardwood floors. They multiply very quickly so it can be difficult to get rid of them. Use flea bombs and powders and don't let them outside. This has always worked for me. Its tough and it takes time but eventually you will get rid of them. Hope this helps you. Oh and I also use advantage stuff you get from the vet that helps a lot.
