Almost a year ago, a friend of mine lost her husband to cancer. He was only 36 with a four year old daughter and a brand new baby. It was very quick, he only survived for five weeks after being admitted to the hospital. My mother also lost her boyfriend to cancer a few years ago, and his was very quick also. He only survived six weeks after being admitted. My question is, do you think there is already a cure for cancer and the government is holding out on us? My mother and several people I know are of this opinion. I am not, I feel if the cure was available, it would be on the market. Please let me know what you think and the reasons for your answer.

I would hope if they had a cure they wouldn't keep it to themselves.
My step father in law sounds a lot like your friend's husband. He may have been 40 at the most and found out he had some type of lung cancer. There were no signs until it was just too late. He left behind 2 kids that were 9 and 6 at the time. It happened 2 days before Christmas.
It is so sad when we lose a loved one but one so young.... :(

Yes, it's always sad, but when it is someone in that type of situation it just seems so much more depressing :( I am of the opinion no one would with-hold a cure for a disease as it seems to me , cold as it may sound, they would make more money if it was released to the public.

Many years ago, doctors thought that cancer had one cause--and so one cure. After much, much research, they've found that many, many things can cause cancer and so many different "cures" for cancer (for example, they've just developed a vaccine against a virus that causes more than half of all cases of cervical cancer). Also, different people respond to cancer treatments differently--and they're only now discovering why. The government isn't withholding "the cure" for cancer because there isn't one, single cure for cancer.

Experts say it takes about twenty-five years from the time of the first gene mutation until a cancerous growth appears in adults. There are warning signs of childhood cancer. For example, more than 70% in countries like Britain and the United States are alive after five years.Scientists have found that lycopene in the diet reduces the risk of some cancers.

Hi. You would think after all of these years they would have a cure for it by now. I too have lost family members to Cancer. It seems to me the government puts lot of money into things that should not be that important like sending people to the moon and such. We have dying, starving and home less people who get put on the back burner. Any more, I do think the government holds alot from us. I also think it is rediculous that we run out of the Flu vaccination and tend to rely on buying it from other countries. Why? After all of this time, do we not have enough of it and have it being developed at all times so we do not run out of it? Makes no sense, does it?

Many people like talking about government conspiracies but I doubt the government would have any reason not to cure cancer. Why would there be rapid research for cancer if the government had a cure. If the government wanted people to die then they could easily find other ways to kill people and the government doesn't need the money from cancer like we like to say they do or their debt wouldn't be in the trillions

I am s survivor, I had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer four and half years ago, stage 4. I have undergone a major surgery (ii and a half hours), almost lost my life due to post surgery complictions, lucky to be alive as a matter of fact. Now life is back to normal, except that I have to watch the diet, no chemo, no radio, no medicines at all.
I have trekked the Himalayas post surgery, even driven over a 1000 kms in a day.
Every type of cancer has a different cause and cure, each individual could need tailored medication and treatment. Basically genetic defects are difficult to spot and know which organ/s they will strike in and in what manner they effect that organ/s. I am sure that over time there will be cures for all types of canecer, got to give it time though.

Cancer is so dangerous attack to humans and the people can come out of it only with precautions and regularity of undergoing tablets. This could reduce the Cancer Effect. In my circle i have never a situation or person with cancer like this.

If someone is supressing a caure for cancer, then they are killing off they're own family and I cannot see that happening. Everyone figures the US is so all powerful that we have all the answers. I cannot see one person in Congress or the House or even the President wanting to withold a cure that perhaps a few of their family members are dying of today.

i am feeling VERY SAD AFTER HAERING YOUR grief.cancer is curable only when it is early detected.but we ignore some sign and think that nothing will happen to us.because of this when it reaches last stage we rush for treatment.it is only miracle to save the person who has reaches last stage of cancer.i want to say only one thing.act early and fast then you can fight with cancer.kill the cancer before he will kill you

thanks, my mom was on stage 3, it was a surprise news after she complain about it, and when she see a doctor, they said it was on stage 3 cervical cancer, they gave chemotheraphy but my mom wasn't able to survive it, i dont know if the hospital treatment was correct because before that, her health was fine, but during the theraphy, her body went way way down, until she could no longer survive it. After a year of theraphy, she finally went home with the Lord.

i know it feel bery sad when you loose someone that you love in this life.
i dunt think there is medication yet available in the market for cancer. like what u said is right if t available then there should be in the market.
and one think is the best to do is go and checking with your GP every couple months so we know how the progress of the health it self
it better to knew what happen in early stage rather than the other way .

Five or six weeks of fast-acting cancer is hardly quick. It's a slow, painful, horrible way to die. If there was ever such a thing as hell on earth, that's it.
What possible motivation could any government agency have for keeping a cancer cure secret? That would be absurd, to say the least.

I don't think that the govt is holding out on a cure for cancer. I think that if there was, they would let the american people know. Cancer is terrible. It took my dad's life when I was 16. He had lung cancer. It is scary stuff.

i think there is cure if it is detected at an early stage...
cancer is everywhere...
the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water that we drink, and the environment we live in...
pollution, preservatives, fertilizers and etc. contributes and causes cancer.

I have had that thought before. Mostly because they seem to just want money and if there is a cure there wouldn't be as much doctor bills. This is actually my families opinion..I'm not sure really. I'fd like to think thi world isn't THAT messed up but maybe it is....
