For me, I love the music and the movies. I used to love the clothes and the hair, but I've finally outgrown that. There is just something about the music that I love. It's not as fake as the newer stuff. I mean you hear real instuments, especially guitars in the stuff from the 80's. Maybe it's because it brings me back to my youth when life was easier. I just love the music, and the movies. What do you think?

I have to agree with you. I love the music and movies also. The music was alwasy so much fun and weird and the artisits seemed to be more creative. The movies were silly but they really caught the essense of the gerneration. We were a free and wild and crazy and creative and loving generation and both the music and movies showed that about us.

I love 80s' music! I was born in 76' and remember alot about the 80s'.You want to know what I love most? People worried about being thin still but it wasn't the bones protruding out of the flesh thin. It was curvey and round faces just the right amount to look good. Now if your spine isn't sticking out and cheeks sunken in then you are to fat. I loved the big hair too!

I saw a few years ago where they were trying to copy the 80s' looks. I saw one girl running around town with the ratted hair and bright blush and blue eye shadow. She looked a little on the crazy side since noone else was dressing like her but she was super skinny so I think it killed the look too:(

I think that's one of the best parts about going to a concert from an 80's group - it's seeing everyone dressed up in 80's-style clothing. Remember Spandex - WOW! I can't believe that I could wear that stuff back then, or wanted to for that matter. I definitely liked the curves of the 80's better too.

You are soooo right. I was a teen in the 80's and we wanted to be thin but not anorexic looking. Curves were in. The big hair was great! I miss it. It has taken me years to finally get rid of the big hair. lol My husband still says it's too fluffy. I'll never be able to wear straight to the head hair. Have to have some body to it.

I am a huge 80's fan when it comes to the music & movies. I really do not have much use for a lot of the music made today. I could spend all day just watching 80's movies. My middle daughter saw "Teen Wolf" last weekend & has watched it like 5 times now.

The 80s were a strange decade, but you have to love them. I think my favorite part about the 80s are the movies and cartoons it produced. Some of the best movies of our time came out of the 80s.

I didn't get to grow up or live in the 80s (born in '90...) but i would have loved too. I love 80s music, its sweet, then theres some really funny stuff. Theres just a ton of great bands and it would be a much better time to grow up, in my opinion...

That's it, it's really fun music. By the 90's everything went commercial if you ask me. It was more of what they thought the people wanted, versus what they wanted to sing. Though, there are a few today that break out from the mold, and I like that. I hate the cookie cutter stuff.

80's music was Da'Bomb! You can't beat the music that was put out in the 80's by the popular hair bands! The music is terrific still today and gets you up dancing and makes you remember a more carefree time in your life.

For me it was definitely the music. It pretty much shaped what I listen to today. I was into all the synth pop stuff like Gary Numan (who I still think is incredible), Visage, Ultravox, Human League etc. Was never a big fan of the fashion, although I did stop weraring socks around the time Miami Vice was on.

During the 80's, I was only a toddler so I don't have any memories on what I used to like during that time? For us Filipinos, the 80's era is not a good one because it was the time that we had our Marshal Law so it is definitely a time not worth reminiscing for most.

I am with you. I stopped listening to the radio because I have Music Choice on my cable. They have a channel that plays nothing but 80's songs! And don't get me started about the movies of the 80's.From great dramas like Terms of Endearment to silly comedies like Bachelor Party and Porky's. It was a great era. Oh, i almost forgot, like you I used to love the "fashion" of the 80's. I most cofess, one of my favorites looks for Madonna was her first. Her look for Desparatly Seeking Susan.

Totally agree! I love Madonna and her music and the clothes that she wore. The Desperately Seeking Susan outfits were my faves too. I like her and her music so much that I took Madonna as my confirmation name. She may be controversial, but her music still rules. I'd love to see her in concert one of these days!!!

I do like a lot of 80's music still-- perhaps because the 80's represent my college years, and I was fairly happy at that time. One the whole, though, I am not all that "past-oriented." My ex used to kid me that I seemed to lack the "nostalgia gene" many people who reminisce about "the good old days" seem to have. I do like some of the 80's films, too-- Reality Bites, The Breakfast Club, Dazed & Confused-- that seemed to define the time, on some level.
I'd have to say (no offense to anyone) that the clothes and hair were mostly... ummm.... UNFORTUNATE.

I could listen to 80s music all day, and be in heaven. I still love it, and always will. That's what was playing when I was growing up, so it does bring back some great memories........and a few bad ones sometimes.............but it's usually the good ones, and I like that!

the most important things about the 80s was the culture and I miss that a lot in this time. People used to interact a lot more than than what they do nowadays. It seems everything is now getting computerised and is people are getting very lazy to get out of your house and interact with people outside their house. People don't like to go to anyone's house and discuss anything. Most of them feel comfortable spending their time watching television which has all rubbish TV serials and outs of the a lot of time pass in front of the computer. Also there to the culture we used to get good movies music and lot more stuff is which we can call as classics. But now a day's we don't see those in the more and I really miss them in this time

So is that a pic of your cat listening to some 80's music? Just curious. What you wrote is very true. Back then we barely used the phone, because we hung out with everyone in the neighborhood. Didn't get into the phone thing till high school when I had friends in other towns/cities. I definitely miss the "human touch" so-to-speak that you mention.

They 80's where great and I love to listen to a local station that plays 80's on the weekend.
Last year my teenage daughters school had an 80's dance and she said they had the most fun out of all the dances all year dancing and playing around to the 80's music.
I have natural curly hair so I loved the big hair cause it was easy for me to do. LOL
Now it is a struggle to tame it down with all the curl.

I don't remember anything about the 80's personally, I was born in '82, and the rest of the 80's are a blur.. but the thing that I like to see most about the 80's is the make up and hair that people used to wear. It's pretty funny.

I will never forget the 80's, particularly the New Wave craze. It was so much fun, just bringing back the memories! The music was so cool especially the British bands. No offense meant, but I totally prefer the non-pop genre (not the likes of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper's music). Nevertheless, the 80's has indeed made a special mark of its own with its blend of funky clothes and hairstyles and ATTITUDE!

I liked almost alll of the 80's music. I listened to the pop rock and dance stuff when I was younger, and that was the thing to do. When I got into high school, I got into rock and heavy metal. I still have all of my 80's music cassettes. I just can't throw them out!!!
