How do you sort your clothes?

Say you came home from a day out or an event and you get home and change your clothes. What do you now get changed into and what do you do with the clothes you have just worn? Do you sort them out, chuck them on your bed or in the wash, or hag/fold them nicely? I usually just chuck them in a pile and soon I have a big messy pile of clothes!

Do you have a special box/laundry basket to keep all you stuff when you are gonna put it in the washing machine? Or do you slam it straight in once you arrive home from a tiring day? Do you mean throw it to wash; not through it into the wash!

I've got a pile on my floor too, lol. But when I've worn something nice and it wasn't worn very long, I hang it when I change. Jeans and stuff can hit the carpet, it won't hurt them any.

laundry - a heaping pile of laundry
My clean clothes are inside the cabinet while the clothes I just used will go straight to our laundry hamper. I don't like seeing used clothes on the floow because someone might slip on them. I try to sort my clothes inside the cabinet according to their color but it takes too much of my time.

Being lazy is my drawback. Everyday when I am back home from work, I would put my clothes I wore in the day in a pile. The next day I would put them on again. If some of them get smelly or too dirty, I will put them all into the washing machine and press a button and let the machine does the chore of clothes washing. Then a few hours later, I will iron the really ceasy ones. Next day morning I will have decent outfit to put on to work.

Of course! I wouldn't want my soiled clothes to be mixed with clean ones. It is just bad hygiene. =) I usually have a laundry bag in my room. All my soiled clothes go there. =)

yep. it's not nice to mix the dirty clothes with the clean ones. so, it's better to have one laundry basket for dirty clothes.

laundry - laundry, dirty clothes ready to be washed
when coming home from somewhere, i put my used clothes to my laundry basket. that way, it's easy to just grab them when i have to wash them sometime.

I am not a fan of making a messy pile and I put my clothes where they go. clean= hung in closet. dirty= laundry basket. Take 2 seconds to put it away right and it saves you the headache mess. I have a husband and two kids I train to do the same.

I think like a child, School clothes and play clothes.. Althought I do not go to school anymore.. School is town clothes.. Then Church Clothes... Then I have so many clothes I have to pack many away.. Summer Clothes, Winter Clothes.... I fold them and put the ones I want to wear over and over and over till they are nothing but a thread on one side and others that I do not want to wear as often cause they are special on the other side... Jeans all go together I mix all my shirts. My slacks all go seperate, and my Good shirts hang.. or would.. They are all kind of in the basement right now.... - DNatureofDTrain

Well most likely if I am not going anywhere else after that I'll just put my pj's on. With the clothes I just took off they'll go straight into the dirty clothes basket.

Generally I throw them in the hamper and put on a pair of pj pants and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. The exception is drycleaning which gets neatly folded or hung up.

I throw them in a laundry basket and then sort them when it piles up to get ready for washing. I just find it easier to throw them together than you sort them, I would have to many baskets.

Easy system, come home and shower. Shower is next to laundry room. Laundry room - 4 hampers, whites, darks, reds and other. Dirty laundery goes into appropriate hamper. Full hamper, do load. I do have a shirt that is a mystery though - It has 3 predominant colors. White, burgundy and a dark green. Never sure where to wash it. It doesn't get worn very much.
