Does husband have the right to beat his wife?

husbands do not have the right to beat his wife. i am a guy and i personally do not like guys beating their wives. for me, it is a very lame thing to do. guys beating their wives belong to jail. if an argument would ever happen to me and my wife, and if she is the one starting to hit me (which i doubt), i will just get out of the house to avoid confrontation and come back when she has settled down. hurting and beating is not the solution to the problem.

It is never ok to beat anyone,let alone you significant other! A man is supposed to love his wife unconditionally.

I think any man who does this is not a man , If a man ever hit me I would not be there for him to do it a second time and I would leave him with a big bruse on his head with my frying pan before I went xx

It is totally, completely, 100% wrong to beat your wife for ANY reason whatsoever. Those that beat on women are weak and shallow people. They choose to beat on women because they know that the majority of women, they will be able to beat. Ever heard of that saying, 'Pick on someone your own size!'...I agree with it and I also pity the poor little a*s that ever attempts to beat me. He wouldn't have alot left to live for..put it that way.

I am very happy to see that 99% of the people here all agree that it is not okay to ever hurt another person. So what I will add is this... If you are being beat for whatever excuse your husband has please seek some assistance. You can go to the police they have safe houses where you could get your life back on track. Seek help through your childrens school counselor. Talk to your family and friends. Do anything to help yourself leave. An abuser never stops, it wont get better, things wont change and he isn't sorry.

I don't care if they're drunk or not..nobody has any right to put their hands on somebody else in that way.

No one has a right to beat anyone out of anger. Whether it is a man beating a wife, a man beating a man, a wife beating a husband. These people need help if they can not control their temper. I have never even been hit by a man, but if it happened and they didn't kncok me out I promise you they would probably die at my hands. for a woman to take a beating is a s bad as a man giving it.

if husband have a right to beat his wife then wife have double right to kick his husband. According to me both are equal who will do mistake they get beaten by other. there is no difference between man and women especially in marriage.

Personally, I don't think one partner has the right to beat the other at all in a relationship. It's a bad sign when it comes to blows.

yes it right if she do mistakes husband can beat her its not at all wrong.. for correcting her mistakes he can beat and she be will console to do.. and then she realise her mistake...

it is never justified to hit you wife or girlfriend. People have arguements but again NEVER hit. That type of man is a loser.

There are many forms of disciplining your wife besides beating. I believe this is not acceptable in any way.

No human has the right to beat another unless being beaten first himself. And girls do what you say, even when they are wrong, they keep on justifying themselves..I think the best thing to do for a man in this situation is leave the room, let eachother cool off and apologize and make up. A man beating his woman is a horrible outcome although it does happen, and it doesn't solve or prove anything, only that you aren't smart enough to resolve anything without enforcing your will.

A person does not have a right to abuse another perosn under any circumstances.(Even when they hare drunk) Would you let a stranger hit you? Of course not. Then why let the person you love who supposedly loves you hit you. Its abuse and it needs to be dealt with. The best thing a wife can do is to get away. There are donestic abuse shelters she can to get help. They have plenty of resources to help her. The reason men beat is because it gives them control and power. Anyone who is being abused can go to yahoo and put in domestic abuse shelters for their city and get the help they need. Dont take abuse its not right and you dont ever deserve it.

No, never ever should anyone hit another human being. The fact that it's a man's wife is really not the question...that is awful to even consider normal. People using violence against anyone is wrong.

No person, male or female has the right to beat another person. A wife hitting her husband is no different than a husband hitting his wife. Sure I understand the self-defense policy but in reality two wrongs don't make a right. The best option is for the two people involved in the argument to walk away from each other until they can cool off. Yes, the old adage says to never go to bed angry, but I would rather do that than cause the irreparable damage to my relationship that would be created by physical violence.
