my kids recently have seen a lot of movies that have come out. They loved Monster house and the new Disney Cars. They did not really care for the ant bully. They also loved Barnyard. I didn't see those two, it was just them.

I, too, would highly recommend "The Last Unicorn" and also "The Flight of Dragons"..they are old animated movies that do not treat children as pure kids but consider them as little thinking adults..without exhausting them with much analysis of the story..
there are songs in the movie and the voice talents can be endearing. In the Flight of Dragons, the voice over talent of the lead character is John Ritter.

Our Friend Martin and The Lion King are the ones that come to mind at the moment. Of course, any animated cartoon with the Peanuts gang or Garfield & Co. in it is very good.

I would recommend Finding Nemo of course, its a classic. I think most people in the world have seen it.
Also try a rare movie Fern Gully from back in the day. Its a pretty good one. Oh, and Fievel Goes West is good too. Some less popular ones but still really good.

The Last Unicorn... I think it was made in '82. To this day it is still the best animated feature (apart from the obvious Disney ones like The Lion King) I have ever seen. The story is phenomenal and the characters will pull you in from minute one.

Monster House, it's a horror animation movie, doesn't this say enough? It's fantastic, thrilling and a beautiful animation. Hold on to your kids when watching this :)!

Just the same- HAPPY FEET! I thought animated films depict usual themes. There were lots of allusions that can be found in the film. It even reflects the problems of today- scarcity in the thitd world and voracity or greed in the First World. the irony was, I wish people would listen to their fellow human beings before they can decipher the message being expressed by the penguins.
