We have a Red Heeler and she is the smartest and most devoted dog. They do require alot of attention and play but you will be rewared with their undivided attention and love. They are very easy to train and they weight about 40 to 50 pounds.

How about a beagle? They are sooo cute and I love their floppy ears!

We have a cocker spaniel here, and I would highly recommend this type of dog especially around kids. She is very loyal, kind and has never snapped or gotten mad at anyone. I've talked to some other cocker spaniel owners that say the same thing. She is a medium sized dog, she weighs about 27 pounds, and is the most happy go-lucky dog I have ever owned! The only downside is that their hair grows a lot, and they do shed a lot, but I keep her hair shaved, especially in the summer as she gets hot with all that fur. Mine is a pure breed, but we got her from an owner that got her from a shelter. I hear they are expensive if you buy them from a breeder, but I think they would be well worth the expense. Hope this helps!! :-)

I would say get a boxer....but then I don't know if that would be the right kind off dog for you.If I was you....I would find a good website that list all breeds of dogs....then read up on the ones you think you may like. This should help you decide if you are a match to a certain breed and if the breed matches what you are looking for in a dog.Everybody has their preference on what kind off dog they like and I hope you find one for you as well.Good luck!!!

I would try a colley or if you can go this big try a Labrador retreiver or golden retreiver.
