1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
8 kaiser rolls
DIRECTIONS
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, celery, carrot, green pepper, and garlic: saute until tender. Stir in tomatoes, chili powder, tomato paste, vinegar, and pepper. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.
Stir in kidney beans, and cook an additional 5 minutes.
Cut a 1/4 inch slice off the top of each kaiser roll; set aside. Hollow out the center of each roll, leaving about 1/2 inch thick shells; reserve the inside of rolls for other uses.
Spoon bean mixture evenly into rolls and replace tops. Serve immediately

i am a non veg from as long as i can remember. i wont try to extol the virtues of eating meat for i guess you must have weighed out all the pros and cons of eating meat before renouncing it.but for me,meat is an integral part, even though pork and beef is a strict no-no due to our culture.

Yes meat is tasty but is starting to make me sick. It is many times more difficult to digest and the undigested proteins, carbohydrates and fats can combine themselves to produce toxic substances which make you tired and bloated. And it is scientifically obsolete to say that meat contains the nutrients not found in vegetarian recipes.

Hey!. I haven't eaten meat for almost fifteen years, but I do eat fish. When people call me a vegetarian, I correct them and tell them I'm actually a pescetarian. It really annoys me everytime I sit to have lunch with others and the rest ask me about it during the meal. It seems like there is no other thing to talk about, and finally they put me off the food..

Veg?? Oh,no!
I can't live without a bloody piece of meat!
We have in Toscana a particular dish called "fiorentina" and i think is the best dish in the world!

I am not vegetarian but I strongly support vegetarians. Because it is healthier and you don't feel guilty of part of the atrocities done to killing farm animals. I'm still striving toward to become a full vegetarian.

Hey there. :) I have been a vegetarian since the summer of 1997! :) I love it. I actually became a vegetarian on accident... I wasn't expecting it either. The environment I was in at the time...everyone was doing it! LOL Peer pressure, basically. So I eventually stopped eating meat too...plus I was grossed out at what I saw... Blah!

Hi ya, I've been a vegetarian since 1985 ish, There were a few of us at school who protested against animal testing and stuff. I had never been much of a meat eater before that but havent missed it since. My friend has been a vegetarian for over 10 year though but she still gets cravings for meat!
