cheesy broccli soup

1/4 c Butter
8 oz Package broccoli
2 cans Chicken broth
2/3 c Corn starch
8 oz Velveeta
1 c Milk
1t Garlic powder
1 c Water
Preparation
Cook butter, broccoli and chicken broth over medium heat until broccoli is tender(about 10-15 minutes). Reduce heat and stir in cheese cubes until melted. Stir in milk and garlic powder until smooth. IN small bowl, stir cornstarch into water until dissolved. Pour into soup and cook until thick.

Oh thank you! I love broccoli soup! I eat it every chance I get. Which isn't very often. Since I had no recipe til now and restaurants don't have it that often either.

Ok this is great I actually have all the ingredients here at home and its a snowy day which is perfect for making soup just one question is it a teaspoon or tablespoon of garlic powder?

sorry but i dont like broccoli!!please dont give me rate - becouse here in romania we dont really eat brroccoli everyday...not every one likes it...sorry

Are you vegetarian then why not.I like broccoli some time basically my foods at night.They have very sweet flavour.A problem with them is digestion but i can definetely say it can be best when take in night.By the way other ingrediants to make soup had really impress me.Thanks for such a nice soup.

This sounds so yummy. We love broccoli and Velveeta. I would have to use soy milk. Thank you for the recipe.

I made this at home:
INGREDIENTS
* 2 tablespoons margarine
* 1 onion, chopped
* 1 stalk celery, chopped
* 3 cups chicken broth
* 8 cups broccoli florets
* 3 tablespoons margarine
* 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 2 cups milk
* ground black pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
1. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in medium sized stock pot, and saute onion and celery until tender.
2. Add broccoli and broth, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Puree soup and return to heat.
3. In small saucepan, over medium-heat melt 3 tablespoons butter, stir in flour and add milk. Stir until thick and bubbly, and add to soup. Season with pepper and serve.
