I can never seem to make anything for myself. There is so much I would like to make.

Yes, it was many years ago, but I crocheted a long waistcoat for myself. It was in blue and navy and I loved it. I wore it all the time! lol. I suppose with having put that much work into it, I couldn't bear to leave it off and I was very proud to have finished it. Thank you for this discussion and good luck with your crocheting.

Yes, I have done 2 crocheted dresses for myself but that was many years ago when I did not have children yet. They don't fit me anymore but I still keep them. Crocheting is quite addictive and I used to stay late nights because I could not seem to stop.

i have made a point of doing for myself these days, and yes it's okay to be selfish, sometimes, lol. i have made an afghan and scarf by crocheting. that isn't the only crafts i do tho, so hard to fit in everthing. i do make things for others, too. just keep working at it.

In the past, I have crocheted scarves for myself and butterfly magnets. I am so busy making gifts for other people that I neglect to do anything for me.

Anything that I have made for myself I usually end up giving away or selling. I actually do have one sweater that I have kept for myself, but that was knit, not crocheted! :0

I love to crochet although since my last child came along not had much time. Dollies are about the only thing I've made for my self. Baby blankets for the kids, does that count? My daughter who is now 16 also loves to crochet and has been doing it for years. She also just joined and wrote a discussion about crocheting. In todays day and age it is rare to see young people still interested in things like that. Good luck to you here at mylot!

You know, that is funny. I crochet afghans for couples and dolls for the little girls in our family and trucks, horses, carebears...lots of stuff and not one time have I crocheted something for myself. I think my big problem is that I can't decide which one I want.

My mom started out making things for herself, then I would like what she's made and I would wear it and people would ask where I got it/who made it and when I said my mom, they asked if she could make something for them...she's made a little "business" out of it, but nothing too much. I made scarfs for myself sometimes.
