I would like to know everyones thoughts on how to deal with an out of control teenager. Be it a boy or a girl! I have step kids and the eldest is positively nasty to her father.(my husband) If we do not give her what she wants she throws a tantrum and will not speak to us! How do we deal with this issue!

Boot Camp!!! Send them to boot camp. LOL Ok, maybe nothing that extreme yet. Try having family talks every Thursday night at dinner. Make a point to have dinner together at the dinner table. Turn off the tv and computer and unplug the phone so there are no interruptions. Go to church together. Plan and do family activities. Explain budgets and help her figure out how she is going to EARN the things she wants. Do not give in to her demands no matter what. So what if she does not talk for awhile. It will give time to think and learn that she will not get everything she desires. Learn to say the word "No" more often. And mean it. When she throws a tantrum, walk away.
