I do have some depression in my life and some days I wonder if that is the reason I sneak off for a nap during the day when my children are sleeping. Better than staying a wake. I dont know if its really depression or just stress. If we could just get moved back home than life would be a lot easier and a lot less stress. wish us luck on getting moved. Prayers needed! thanks

Yes I have severe clinical depression which is kept in check by tonnages of medication! I cannot say here as to what caused it, but I sought help to overcome it and now I am feeling better than I ever did. I still have bad days, but at least i'm still alive and enjoying every minute of it. Overcoming depression has made me a better person. When you're standing on the edge of a precipice and deciding whether to jump or not - it makes you think about what's really important in life. It's not the latest fashion, or a new mobile phone or ipod or whatever; it's finding happiness in the little things and doing things for others.

I'm not happy with my income. It is safe and secured but not adequate to fulfill my desires.

An evil ailment that survives best as people don't realise they have it, and quite often are in denial of having it after being told they have it!! I, as most people who have endured lifes little hick-ups, have verged on depression, and by realising it have worked through it gaining an increased enlightenment and greater sense of self!

Someone said, "If you look around you, you'll be depressed, only when you look up to God that you'll be at rest!".
I've had my share of depression when I tried to control things in my hands, when I refused to trust my problems to God. But I learnt through the experience that God allowed to go through it so that I could know His abundant grace and power even more. I learnt how much I needed God eventhough I said I wanted Him away from my life. I learnt more about thanksgiving and hoping to God, which later helped me out of depression. All is by God's grace.

Yes I have depression in my life. I have bipolar which is also known as manic depression. I know some of the causes of the depression in my life family, work and finances. But sometimes little things can trigger it. I see a physicharist a few times a month and take medications to keep me on a stable mood.

Depression is usually caused by expectations to yourself or other people which are not met......Depression can be dealt by an individual..all he/she needs is a sound reasoning power to be able to combat whatever thoughts that usually invade the mind......and yes, Asking God for help will matter...it is really one of the strategy to combat depression....with God...you got contentment..with contentment......your happy...

Depressions are day to day occurrences. I won't believe anyone who says he has not been through it yet, ever.
We do everything to cope with life. Struggle to do good in our job, hanker on everything we believe could be a good source of sideline job, cope with the demands of time and family...then we find out for ourselves that no matter what we do, it's just isn't enough yet. Then depression takes over you. Feels like dying is better to end it all. Then we cry, and we can't help it as those tears fall in rivers. We blame ourselves, get down the level of self pity - I'm alone and no one sympathizes with me, we say - yes, it is better to die. But, most of us wake up in time and recover. We find ourselves to have gathered sufficient strength again to face life, usually, after a night's sleep, regardless of whether it's been a very peaceful one or a what not kind. So what? I will be facing a new day anyway and this day needs so much coping with, too!
