Does it bother you when you get on mylot and come across several discussions started by the same person and they are all rude, use lots of curse words, and most are really offensive towards most people????
I have come across atleast 6-7 discussions started by this person that uses the f-word every other sentence, who degrades just about everything in our society, who thinks they know it all about everything and usually only gives VERY rude responses! But yet, LOTS of people like this person and respond to their topics. I find this very rude...even when it's not directed at me. Can you not explain yourself without being so darn rude and mean?
Now, don't get me wrong, I've been mad, and I've even cursed, But I don't start discussions FULL of curse words, especially the F-Word.
Does this sort of thing turn you off to responding? Do you report them? How do you feel about it?

I have seen a few of these posts but I usually just skip past them. I think some people just have not gained a command of the English language, so the have to fill there post up with abusive words. I have never reported them, but my daughter found one such post in her responses and she reported it. I am happy to say that MyLot deleted the response almost immediately. Maybe we should report the people who use these abusive words.

I've seen several!! And I skip them too...I just don't understand why someone does this and what makes me wonder even more is why so many people respond to it...I haven't reported any yet...but I'm thinking about it.

You are absolutely right.. Of late i have seen many discussions ( cant recollect who posted them) which use abusive language or intended to hurt someone . I dont respond to such discussions. The F word is ok with me, as long as its not used to abuse anyone. But there is a limit to everthing, using too many F's does piss me off.

Well this person says things like..."who the f*** do you think you are" and "what gives you the f***ing right to say this and that"! And I just think it's rude, disrespectful and wrong! And I can't understand why someone would even respond to such garbage! THank you for your response!

I don't think I would respond to or even read this person's discussions, and if they were way too offensive I would report them to mylot.

Actually, I've never come across those type of discussions. I'm not sure what I'd do. Grateful I don't come across them, I might report if it is a continuous offense. Have you messaged this person and written how offensive his replies are? Maybe take that route. So what there are a lot of people who like this person...does that make it right? no. good luck.

Yes it does bother me. I don't like swearing, try not to swear myself and I am offended when someone else does it. I am especially offended by the f-word. I don't read or respond to those kinds of discussions. My guess is the person is just trying to get attention and trying to get a bunch of responses. He/she doesn't care if the responses are about the bad language. Hopefully mylot will delete those kinds of discussions. I don't see how they can be considered quality discussions? That's my opinion anyway?

I don't run into it very often, but when I do, I usually rate their discussion as negative. I find it offensive and don't appreciate it and usually won't even join in their discussion. I don't like wasting my time on discussions of this type.

I've yet to run across a discussion like this but if I did (especially if the user was being rude in their responses), then I would skip by it. I don't mind the use of cursing (in moderation), but don't care for rudeness.

I cannot stand people who are fluent at English and yet they text talk and then criticise people who struggle with English because they are poor at writing English. Hmm have not come across many that cuss and swear, surprised actually.

This kind of thing makes me really angry. It is unacceptable and should be reported. There is no need to use such words on a forum such as this, particularly as it seems to provoke more and often worse offensive behaviour

Really i can't say i would be bothered.
I mean it's just the internet, it's not something to take to heart really because at the end of the day your there and the people who others find annoying are where ever they are.
so it doesn't concern me. however i can see why some people would get annoyed. if it doesn't concern you (e.g your not the being swore at) ignore it or report it. =)

I can say it doesn't bother me anymore because after a while it becames like nothing. You get to understand that there are just some people that just cant stand to see anything good in this world. They just try do abuse everything and everyone. So dont even pay them any mind just continue to be good.

It most certainly does bother me. I believe that even if one feels strongly regarding a certain topic, he or she is morre than capable of expressing his opinions using civilised language and not resort to using swear words or curses or even worse, stooping so low as to attack the character of a person. I'm thankful that the mylot moderators are proactive in weeding out such anti social comments and posts.

I wouldn't respond to a discussion that was littered with the F-word unless I really really wanted to get my point across. I don't see the need for using this type of language on this site. I just don't feel that it is necessary to make a point using that word.

Well...people that don't have anything to say are usually the ones who curse and use a low vocabulary. I think it is an example of the lack of culture that they have and they feel that they need to be superior by any means. I am sorry for those who are like that...but hope is not lost. There is a saying in my country : "A man learns during all his lifetime."

With easy access to myLot, it its everyyone's prerogative to discuss and post words that they chose to. But don't you think you also get the chance to form an idea of just what kind of personality some people had based on the words or topics they posted. But I do agree that these people should also learn that curse words are not a pleasant things most myLot will see.
