Avatar Changes

I'm actually considering changing my avatar. I want to keep a Naomi (the character in my current avatar) avatar, but I think I'd like one that's less stern and sour looking. And less grey and dark. I chatted some in my post about avatars and influence on this, but I really do wonder about how my avatar may influence people to see me. And while I am a bit on the grumpy and dark side, I'm not sure that's really the face I want to constantly put forth.
I just wonder if people won't recognize me anymore if I do change my avatar.

I hope you won't get upset about this but when I first started here I wouldn't repond to your posts because of the name along with picture ...I was afraid ...tonic is bitter and then the picture I just associated the two and was
maybe intimidated should be the word not so much afraid...lol but either way your posts are interesting and I respond if I like it or I can contribute to it I will ...

Oh, not upset at all! The name 'Misskatonic' is actually an H P Lovecraft reference - there's a fictional university in many of his stories called Miskatonic University. I added the extra 's' to let everyone know I was female!

I've only been a member of MyLot for...what, a week and a half? Less? XD I dunno. Anyway, I've changed it three times already, but I think I'm going to keep with Haruhi for right now.
Personally, I like the Naomi icon, because it sort of...goes with you. I dunno. Happy puppy!Tamaki would be cute, too. :D

I didn't change it much. I really like having Naomi represent me, since... well, I do connect with her more than any other character out there. No matter how many times I change it, it'll definitely still be Naomi.

Having the same avatar all the time is boring. That's why I change mine about once a month. For every old viewer you may lose because they don't recognize you, you'll gain a new one, because each look attracts different people.

i dont change my avatar...since it give me a recognisation among mylot user.they will not remember my name because there are more than 60000 user in mylot.so a photo speaks more than a word.whenever someone see my hitman avataar they will got me.so i dont want to change and i will continue with it !thanks for staring such discussion!

Yes, I think the change would be good. I personally would like to see a less mean or grumpy looking avatar. It makes you look unaproachable.

Sadly, I'm still keeping the rather grumpy looking shot of Naomi. But I changed the colors so it's not so drab and dreary. maybe when I hit 3,000 posts I'll change to one of her smiling. If I can find one!

I do think that avatar is secondary , the most important is that you contribute more quality content out here yea so that we all can remeber you better yea

Hey, I almost didn't recognize you at first. But I do like the new avatar. I hadn't thought of you as being on the dark side from your avatar before though.
I like to change my avatar every so often. I think I'm already on my third one.

your avatar is your symbol. if you stick to one, you can be easily recognized by other members since it is the only image we see beside your username. also, it creates a sort of first impression to your character. so, if i were you, i would decide on which avatar to represent me during my stay here in myLot. =)

I love the new avatar. I agree with you that the other was bit menacing looking. This one fits with your posts better. I worry too that people won' recognize me if I change avatars, but I recognized your new one right off.

You changed your avatar and I almost lost track of you. Your posts add spice to my day and I would hate to miss them so I am going to send you a friend request just in case you change again. Don't worry, I wont spam you with get rich quick scams or try to hit on you. I just don't want to lose track of your rich, insightful and well reasoned posts.

i did recognize you by your username(in another post) and was about to comment when i noticed this discussion. honestly, i liked the previous avtar. it was stern....but sour? in shades of grey definitely....but intriguing.
you post some real good stuff. both your discussions and avtar have drawn me towards them always......can't say why.

I really don't realize that your are actually a female. Avatars will show the first impression about who we are , yes it sometimes play some role. Only sometimes. But ,its ok , to change your avatars in anyway coz it will be more interesting to see more unique impressions about you.... : )
