I worked at a job for 17 years and now find myself getting ready to be homeless. I am scared to death and can not find a job.

Did you ever think about checking out a temporary employment agency? Once when I had trouble finding work, I went to one and was hired as a fill-in the very same day, and started the next day. Sometimes when you're a temp, you end up getting hired in to full time if the employer likes you and the way you work. Sometimes it might not be the type of job you really want, so you work it a week or so, and then ask at the agency to be switched. I've found them pretty good places to work for.

Have you ever done any work before? Check out the local newspapers and if you cannot afford them, they are usually available free for you to read at the local library. Also place noticed at shopping centres and places like that and to start take whatever work is offered.
Also if you can access the internet, then get involved in forums etc as they will make you some money but not a fortune. Have you spoken to your local Social Securities office about how they can assist? Similarly, your local Church might be able to help you out in finding a job.
Good luck.

If you're in need of extra income, there are other ways in which you can make money online besides mylot. I've recieved payments from trustworthy sites that pay you to read emails, complete surveys, complete free offers and play a game. Anyone who is interested can PM me for the details.

How long have you been without a job? What kind of job were you doing previously. You may have to swallow your pride and accept work that is of a lower scale than your previous one. Here are just a couple of suggestions. Do you own a car? How about offering to taxi kids in your neighbourhood to and from school? Do you have your own computer at home? What about looking up companies who need people to do data entry for them in their businesses?

I dont know what state in the US you are in, but in my state there are all kinds of job openings now. You cant be picky.. just drive down the street and look for "now hiring" signs in the windows of businesses. THere are many out there. Also go to monster.com on the internet and place you resume. What kind of work did you do before?

Have you checked with your local state help? Can they give you food stamps or something to help pay the bills? Have you looked into something that may be a lower job than before but will pay something now? Maybe waiting tables or fast food?
