Do you hate voice operated customer service call centers?

Ok, so to me it's bad enough to have to "listen to all options carefully before making your selection" as it seems like a royal waste of time, considering they usually can only handle part of your problem not matter who answers the call before passing you on to someone else. Fortunately pressing "0" usually works and gets you straight to.... the elevator music so you can hold for 10 minutes because "the next representative will be right with you". Anyway, have you called in to any of these call centers where the phone tree wants you to "say or press 1 now"? There are only so many ways to say YES... and only so many times one can stand to hear "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble understanding you". Makes me want to mumble 3 or 4 times just so it'll give up and get me to some one who is outsourced to another country and only has a 4th grade level understanding of my language. Ok, I'm done.... phew, anyone else have problems with this?

Yes, I hate going through the million options only to get to another place and not have the option you want. I keep saying zero, zero, zero and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't work. Also, it always says I'm sorry, I didn't understand and tells me to do it again! I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs by the time I'm done with this process.

I know exactly what you mean... I don't usually yell, but I get louder and louder with those stupid automated systems that say, I'm sorry, I'm having trouble understanding you... GRRRR. I spoke clearly, and I'm American, what kind of trouble must foreign people have with those systems. Geesh. Thanks for the post.

I absolutely loathe these things, both when I call into a company, or when they call my house. What happened to human contact? You can't relate to or express anything to a voice operated call center, so when you're a customer calling to complain, you're already frustrated. Then the whole thing with not being able to press 0 to opt for the operator. . . it's nerve wracking. There are so many people out of work that could answer phones for companies. Do we really need to give our jobs to computers?

You speak the truth! That's so aggravating. It really really bothers me when they call MY house with an automated voice, and then ask me to HOLD???? What the heck. If you don't have someone there to talk to me right away (that I already don't walk to talk to 99% of the time) then don't bother. I'm not going to hold to talk to a telemarketer, give me a break! Thanks for the post.

YES, I hate them immensely. It's great when you can press "0" and get a human being. I also hate the annoying hold music, or when the radio station they're using doesn't come in well. What I hate the most is that in the USA we need to press "1" for English!!! That's absurd! If you're in the USA it should automatically be English, and you can press other numbers for other languages. How do other countries do it?

Ugh, I know what you mean. You'd think everything here could be English, but phone trees and many many other things now have to be multi-lingual. It's great that other people speak different languages. But in America, we speak English! Thanks for the post.

oh you are so funny ...Who doesn't . The worse for me is when I am using my cell phone and you have been on for 10 minutes already driving down the road you lose signal and then you have to start all over again ...so frusterating ...wish you could reach out and choke someone through the phone ..lol Then if you say you can't understand them they get offened well what are you suppose to do stay on and listen to them ...duh now I feel better thanks so much ... :)

I can't stand them either. Half the time they don't care f what I'm calling for and I usually end up holding for what leems like forever until I can talk to an operator.
