Do you believe in the power of prayer?

I can without a doubt answer yes. I've been privy to its powers and while sometimes I've doubted God listened, I later realized just because I ask doesn't mean he provides. God is not "Santa Claus"... someone to go to and request gifts. God is there for us and knows far more than we do, so sometimes our prayers are answered, just not in the way we've thought it would be. What about you? Do you believe in the power of prayer?

Absolutely yes. I have heard of really amazing things being done via group prayer, as well. I once heard a story about a large group of people getting together and praying in one city, and the crime rate dropped to zero during the time that they prayed! I just don't see how anyone can doubt that positive thoughts are a good thing. People who are more confident and believe in themselves in life tend to get further because they put so much positive energy out there. I try so hard to remember this and be as positive as I can, and pray as often as possible! ^_^

My belief in the power of prayer and the power of God is solid and unshakeable. I have learned God sometimes answers yes, sometimes no and sometimes WAIT. Everything is good for us in HIS time and that is when He allows it.

i do believe in what you call the power of prayer it is central to my belief system. I tend to call it meditation or ebven the casting of ritual spells but its essentially the same thing, blessed be sister

that's what i love about various religious beliefs... as much as we may call things something else.. our basis is a supreme being whom we can go to, at least for most. that's why intolerance of other religions pi$$es me off big time! LEARN about the other religions... see the LIKES along with the differences and keep an open mind. Sometimes it's a matter of what someone will call something and nothing more.

I have read several medical studies that demonstrate that people who pray or are prayed for seem to generally do better through health crisis and recovery. So while I am not a religious person I do believe there is something to it, absolutely.

I agree with you. God is not there to just answer all of your prayers or requests. He is there for us to pray to, to worship. And if ever he doesn't answer some of your prayers, maybe the outcome of answering it is far more worst than not answering it at all.

think that we are all children of God, even if an individual doesn't think they are. I DO believe in healing prayer. How do we know people in China don't pray. Maybe they say "Please be with me in this time of need!" and God answers them just like he/she would answer you or me. What do you think?

I defintely think there are different ways to pray, just as their are different ways to worship and show our love for God.

Absolutely, prayer is our connection to God, to offer up thanks for all he does for us.We have seen miracles in our family and we credit them to prayers being offered.

Most definitely, I believe in the power of prayer. As you so eloquently stated, it is often hard to accept what God has as an answer to our prayers. We are human and don't see his complete plan for our lives.

Thanks. Sometimes it's hard for us to remember that our plan and His plan don't always go the same path!

I always suceeded in things, Within half an hour or and hour i would definitly get a good solution to my problem . I feel that god is with me always and keeps testing me at times to make me work harder.

Prayer is very important and does work. I used to have very bad hay fever when a child into my 20's. I was outside hanging clothes on line; the landowner had just mowed grass few hours before. I had a bad attack; couldn't see, couldn't breathe, etc. I stopped in my tracks and told Satan that he was a liar and to leave me alone. I then claimed my healing from Jesus Christ and the power of His blood. I didn't think anything about it and went back to hanging clothes; a few mins. later, I could see, breathe, etc. I have not had hay fever since. I thanked Him for his healing. It was fantastic. Now, I'm not saying that this will happen to everyone who does this or every time but I think He realized that I prayed from the heart and he wanted to give me a gift.

I really need God to listen to my prayers right now. I have lotsa problems which I can't really share with friends... And yes, I do believe in the prayers. I believe God listens to us, and even though it might sounds like just a coincidentally, I really believe that it's God who sent "that" to us. For me, God works in a normal ways. Dun expect God to suddenly do a magic nowadays cuz the next thing u know is u'll be running down the hill as soon as u find something odd happening... Instead of thinking that it might be God, we will most probably think that it's a ghost. Last time, when I really need the answer to my question, after praying, I turned on my radio.. and suddenly there's one song being played... and somehow... I feel like it's a sending from the God to me. To answer my prayer... IN other cases.. he might send someone to help us. I believe it's because of God too.

Good luck then Soda and may God answer your prayers. I know it can sometimes be hard to keep the faith when you feel like so much is wrong, but trust in God and he will make sure you get through. I will keep you in my prayers also.

yaa prayers can do wonders sometimes as luck can change anyones life so are the prayers. Basically it gives us the inner strength to fight against the problems. So in the process our mind gets diverted and we get a some sort of relief. I would say its a free medicine given by The God to help us in case of any problem. Good Luck and happy prayer for all of us who is working here at Mylot.

Tricky.I think there ARE power in prayer, only if you pray for a right thing.Like,if you pray for a fully-powered online game characters,I think no one will respond at all. If you pray for someone's health and something like that,I believe God will respond.

Yes I do believe in the power of prayer. Sometimes we may feel that God is not listening. When this happens I remind myself of the following qoutes: " God's delays are not God's denials." and "When there seems to be no way, the Lord will make a way."

Yes i believe in the power of prayers. We live in a funny world, sometimes you pray and changes dont come.you feel maybe he left you,but the truth is that he is watching and will do it at the right time. The ways of God is not the ways of man.So i truly believe in the power of prayers.

Prayer is a powerful tool that God gave us to use. It is a way of reaching out and becoming of a like mind with him. It's not so much that he answers our prayers as he makes what He wants for us what we want also. So if we pray for what He wants in our life we will always get what we want!!
