I love to read and am always looking for new books to read. I was just curious as to what your favorite book is and why? My favorite all time book (that I must have read at least 50 times) is called Ride The Wind by Lucia St. Clair Robson. Based on the true life story of Cynthia Ann Parker kidnapped by the Comanche Indians, raised as one of their own and married a great leader. Her son was the last remaining free chiefs of the Comanche Indians. Tremendous read!

I am completely addicted to author Kathy Reichs at the moment. She has a series out on forensic anthropology. The TV show Bones is lightly based on this series. Kathy Reichs is also involved with the production of the tv show. I cant wait for her next book!!!

thanks, I have been reading James Patterson (along came a spider, kiss the girls) and have been looking for a new person to read. Know anything about John Connolly?

Ally, I've been interested in checking out a book by Reichs to read... is there any one in particular you'd suggest starting out with?

Have you read any of James Patterson's winged children books? They're great! I think the last one I read was called "Maximum Ride" and it was even better than his first ones.. I like most of his Alex Cross books.. but the murders pile up after awhile, and I have to read something else! I love Dean Koontz! Wish I had 1/1000's of his imagination. Where does he come up with his ideas!! Some of his more recent ones are revealing as to some things going on in science.. and how they could go wrong.. and even how they are going wrong in at least one case..

I read quite a lot fiction, short stories, recommended novels based on human relationships and art of living. I recommend to you to read (if you have not read already) FOUNTAIAN HEAD BY AYN RAND and her other books like Atlas Shrugged. Also try and read Guy Muppusant's books and O'henry's short stories and of course great books of Irving Wallace.

Wow, "Ride the Wind" sounds like a very interesting book. I used to read books like that a lot.. the story of Sackajawea.. etc. And all those gothic romance novels I read when I was younger! Still read one every so often, and always grab them if I run across them at lawn sales or thrift stores.. Now I'm an avid Dean Koontz fan. Man that guy comes up with some good ones.. Where's he get his ideas? My favorits are "Lightning" "Twilight Eyes" (about goblins! I thought 'here I am reading an adult book about goblins!' - I am waiting with bated breath for "Brother Odd" to come out im paperback... (As I'm too frugal, or stingy! to buy the hardcover).. I also like Jame's Petterson's "ultimate ride" series... and the other winged children books.. and some of the Alex Cross mysteries.. which the movie "Along Came a Spider" was based on, but thosse are all murder mysteries and the murders pile up and get a bit much sometimes.. I know, Iknow, I should be reading the classics.. and read one every so often, gotta do better is all - I did read "Farenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury this last week. That was way good..

I do not read so much as I used to, as I had surgery on my eyes a few years ago, and I find the small print very hard for my eyes. However, my favourite book of all time is undoubtedly Tolstoy's "War and Peace". It is such a huge, sweeping novel, and makes me feel closer to my Russian heritage. Also, I love Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings", and I enjoy the books of Stephen Donaldson ("The Thomas Covenant" series).

I love Lord of the Rings. I re-read the books every few years. Very creative, entertaining, well written, descriptive and just good story lines. I like the underlying theme of environmentalism. And that industry is destroying the environment, that touches me personally. They aren't a short or easy read, but I find it hard to find an author I really like to read. So if it isn't well written, I'd rather read texts where I can learn something new.

Well, that is just great for you. I do not really have any favorites just yet, I do love to read all romance novels, though. I think they are pretty good.
