Got an article on the front page of Helium.com!!

This is a real pleasure. I've been working on a theme called "Social Capitalism" for a while, and I sent Helium the draft of the first chapter.
I've only been there for a couple of weeks, and to get published at all you need to be rated by other writers, so this is a bit of vindication.
I know we've got a lot of full and part time writers here; check it out, see what you think, let me know.
Comments on article also welcome this is one of my major projects.

I belong to helium.com as well, and I also had an article on the front page, last month. It really is something to see your work on an international site that gets millions of hits everyday; it's actually quite humbling.

Thanks. Yeah, it's hard to explain what that means to a writer. Came as a bit of a shock to me, largely because the article on Social Capital is one of my big babies, it's an idea which has been getting bigger for ages, and this is the introduction.

I don't know the protocol for using real names, so Philosophy "Why socialism has failed".
It's a real buzz to get this done. This is something I've had simmering away for a while now, and the response has been a real joy. Maybe writers do run on a whiff of vindication...

Let me know what they pay you. I've heard they don't pay very well, so I've not submitted anything. If you can tell me otherwise, I'd like to give it a shot.
Do you have a blog? I've made a little money that way. If you like to write, it's not a bad idea. Gives you a place to exercise your skills everyday.

Wanderlaugh...is it true that the more you rate other writers' articles on Helium, the more yours will come up for rating by them?

Not sure, pacodecabra. What I do know for certain is that you'll be given subjects to rate in the areas you write.
Blogging I know very little about. Where do you blog, what sort of rates do you get?

Congratulations! I was wondering though what country you're from...I'm from the Philippines and I was only able to access Helium while it was on the beta stage. I haven't been able to access the site since Helium launched. I feel really bad about it coz I was doing pretty well before on that site. I hope I can access it soon. The Helium staff said that it can't support the Philippines yet. Sigh! I'm sort of wondering if I'm still earning from it or what has happened to my account since the staff isn't responding to my emails anymore.

I'm an Aussie. Don't know why you wouldn't be able to access, or not getting responses. You should still be getting paid. Might be worth a phone call, just to find out what's happening.

Nice! I've had a couple articles featured on the front page, so I know what a good feeling it is. And believe me, it also gives your earnings quite a boost, too. I've found that the more quality articles you initiate, the better your chance of getting one on the front page. Keep up the good work!

I have tried a few times to log on to helium, but I always get the message that they are building local servers for all countries. I am still waiting to get a taste of what helium is like, and just keep imagining abuout it from what I hear of it from my friends.

"Some countries" is the result so far. I gather from speaking to Helium that there are issues in some Pacific countries. I see from your profile you're from India, so I'd think those 75+ million English speakers would be a plus. There may be regulatory situations, or jurisdiction, or intellectual property rights issues in some countries.
