Here in Norway it is quite a big buzz in the media now about WoW addiction.
They have even started a treatment programme for people who are addicted to WoW.
Both me and my boyfriend have played a lot of WoW , but beeing addicted and let it ruin our everydaylife? Never.
Is it really possible to be that addicted to a game?
I think that if you do get addicted to a game like this , you get addicted because you have other problems in your life.
What do you think?

Help me please! I'm not sure if it's addiction but I'm really confused if I should go on and buy the expansion or not. I would say that I don't play that often..I mean 3-4 hours every other day. But living without playing it drives me nuts! I'm ripped between buying it or not!

Well it is a hard thing do decide.
I have not bought the expansion pack , but I have not played it in several months (with a baby it is kind of hard playing online games lol)
But if you play every other day you might have use for the expansion. But you have to decide for yourself if it is worth it or not. Will you get even more addicted when playing it?

i agree with you that WoW is EXTREMELY addictating, but its not that addicating. i mean i have it and i play it often, probably 3 or 4 times a week, but i dont let it take over my life. im really active in sports, so thats probably why i am not completely addicated to WoW.

WoW can be addicting if you dont have anything better to do but if you get a girlfriend (wow that takes up a lot of my day), play sports, just chill with friends in Real life, i actually find it hard to play WoW more that 2 hours a day. I have to keep my grades up to play sports and thats not easy for me because im not exactly the smartest person. but i play WoW at least 16 hours a week its easyer on weekends when we dont have practices.

I have never played this game. However, I do play other games and they can be very addictive. The question is, why are they so addictive? I think because they relax or excite us. Game kind of relax and excite me at the same time. Then there is the idea that if you don't win or you get a lower score, you want to play until you win or get a higher score and then that is not enough.

When I first got my Gamecube my husband thought I was addicted because I was playing it in my spare time a lot. I even thought I was addicted but I was just enjoying the game. I do think it is possible to get addicted to games because my stepson used to be this way. He would wake up in the morning and start playing his game cube or game boy. Of course when he came to our house we wouldn't allow him to play his games until he ate breakfast and did whatever else he had to do first. But when his mother was alive she let him play it whenever he wanted, early in the morning, late at night, it didn't matter. These games can be quite addictive. Just like the internet is addictive and I will admit I am addicted to the internet, lol.
I have never heard of this World of Warcraft but I think it might be a little extreme to have a treatment program for this sort of thing but who am I to say right?
I can say though that when I did play my game cube a lot I always made sure I had my work done first. Just like before I get online I always make sure I have all of my housework done first before I log on.
I don't really know if being extremely addicted to any game would have to do with having other problems in your life but you might have a point there. :)

I've never played the game myself, but as an outsider-looking-in, I know my old roommate was practically addicted. I know he would come in from classes some days and play from around noon until sometime close to six in the morning, even if he had class at 8:00 a.m. or so. After a few days of that sort of play-til-exhaustion gaming, he'd just pass out and sleep all day, usually skipping classes in the process. I kept telling him he was crazy, but I guess it's his life and his grades.
