I've just started playing keyboard and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to help me learn better/faster. Maybe you know a good book or DVD. Anything would be helpful. Thanks!

I have a keyboard also, it was fun learning by yourself. If you went to a music store, guitar center or something they will mostly likely have a ton of keyboard stuff. There are a lot of books for beginning keyboard , and they are very helpful if you are teaching yourself to play.

Ok so it's been ten months since you posted. If oyu are still looking here for advice I'll give you some. remember the piano is a string and percussion instrument. Learn these essentials. Chords - What makes a chord and variations of those chords Circle of Fifths - this you cna find on the inet to help you find out what chords go with what other chords. Rythym - Find a set of bongos (mainly because you play these with your finger tips. Practice different beat patterns to your favorite music. Now mix all of that information together and you will be surprised at the difference in your playing. Give it a try.

Learn your scales! Haha, actually I don't play the keyboard, but I did learn the major and minor scales once, and I've been bragging about it ever since. Good luck with your learning. :)
