Now that am boarding and away from home and have a pet dog of my own, I let the dog stay inside the place where I board. But in my real home dogs are not allowed inside the house. They stay outside.
Do you think dogs should stay inside the house and live in one roof with human beings or should they separately stay outside the house?

I would never have an animal if it was going to be left outdoors constantly. First, why bother having an animal that you pass on your way in and out of the house. Most often dogs that are left outdoors, are untrained (not their fault, the owners), are attention deprived, and live much shorter lives than those who are properly cared for inside the home. Obviously there are exception to every situation, as there are some dogs that love to be outside constantly, however, they should always be allowed to be inside in extreme weather etc.
I wish that people would "pretend" that owning an animal is a privledge, not a right.

Well my hubby and I say " our dog has this beautiful house and ocassionally he lets us visit"!! He is a member to the family - almost the head of the household! LOL.
SO yes we have him in and wouldn't have it any other way. We very much enjoy his company. He is spoiled but we love him. He's an 18 month Old Chocolate Lab named Hershey..... He's the light of our lives.

If your dog is intended as a pet I think he is best inside the house, but within limits. The dog should havelots of places to go but NOT on the furniture or in bed with humans. Dogs are pack animals and they are happy with a few boundaries.
If the dog is a working dog, then that is a differenet sitiation completely.

DOgs should be outside the house, they have there separate room. its because of our safety especially on HEALTH problems, some of us has a low fighting system, when we smell something bad then we easily got sick..

thanks for that mvenezuela. yes thats true. if there are people in the house who are allergic to animals then animals such as dogs should stay outside.

dogs inside the house. not just because they'll get dirtier but i think its more lovelier to keep them inside like what we do. and i dont like dogs in cage i feel them. it saddened me looking at them without freedom.
well sometimes me and my dogs take a walk out. so that they'll know whats outside look like. its fun too, its like they feel as the happiest dogs in the world.

it greatly depends on your dogs behavior, if they are well-trained and would not be too rowdy and active to break things inside the house then they are fine inside. but if they are not house broken yet i would suggest they stay outside unless you want to start training them or you wouldn't mind cleaning up their mess.
personally though, i'd like my dogs to stay in the house since i consider them part of the family, that way also they can keep you company and you can also get to know them better and easily know if there's something wrong with them.

i let my dog stay inside my house.
he even slept beside me ;)
i only let him out during dogwalks or release his waste.
i train my dog not to mess around the house.
i even tried leaving him loose and leave him alone in the house, when i came back from work, as i open the gate, he barks so loud coz he's not aware that it's me who arrived.
when i open the door, i saw him growling underneath the chair. hahahaha

In our case, most probably outside our house. We have a dog but it is not so disciplined as other dogs. They scatter everything in the garden and usually wreck the pots. What else if they are left playing inside the house. I wanted to put some leash in them but I didn't. They might injure their necks or something wrong might happen. I don't want to see them hanging in their necks lifeless. They are much better outside I guess.

well it all depends on the size of the dog or what type of dog it is.. if it should be kept inside or outside of the house.. if u ave a small dog that would be to much trouble then u should keep it inside.... if u have a big dogg u should keep it outside.. my dogs are outside.. because they can serve as security purposes.. and i have have 3 cats inside... and i wouldnt want it to turn into world war 5 in here.. so i keep the dogs outside.. but my 3 cats are inside and outside cats.. they love outside and inside.. i live in the caribbean so there is alot of trees and and bushes and stuff and they love to go through that but they stay in the yard.... and stuff and we have a big yard so they have more than enough room to play with..

I say mostly dogs stay outside although due to weather and a few occasions where they may bark too much or if they run away from time to time you can bring them inside they are our babies after all they need our love

Please don't take offense. I feel that dogs are part of the family, and deserve to be treated as such. I think that they belong inside the home, loved with lots of praise and affection, kept clean, and taken to the vet yearly. Just as we would treat our own human family. They have feelings and emotions too.

i think it depends on the ones living in the house. if some people have asthma or allergies in your house, then it's better if the dogs stay outside, especially if there are infants. i myself prefer dogs staying outside. with my busy schedule, i don't have the time to clean my house all the time. dogs running inside the house means fur all over the couch, the furnitures and carpets..not to mention the dog poop, urine and soil or mud if your pet is not well trained.

In my opinion, there really is no sense of getting any pet to keep it penned up outside. I only have a cat at the moment, but would never get a dog or anything else unless I could keep it inside.
