Reload of OS takes more time again. Instead of this you can make it with ghost pack. It will enable to set things right in minutes.

What I usually do was I place installation programs on another drive, not drive C: where Windows is installed. And of course some installations are from CD's.
Then regarding datas, I also make a data drive, not C:. Then I will copy all the Windows profiles from drive C: to my data drive. That includes desktop, mydocuments, etc.
Afterwards, I format my drive C: then reinstall again the Windows, and other programs. Afterwards, copy again from my data drive the profiles into drive C: Windows profiles.

depends on the virus, usually you just buy McAffee or Norton Anti Virus and it will clean your hardrive and ram of viruses, then keep it activated at all times since many webpages try sending you spyware which is a form of a trojan virus if you ask me.
If you simply can't do anything, not even load up your OS then you would need to format the computer entirely and reinstall everything, but if it's not at that point then just get a virus scanner and have it clean your computer out.

not required to reload your os scan your computer for virus using your antivirus and remove them.
if the antivirus detects the virus and is unable to remove it then log into safe mode and search for the virus yourself and delete it manually.
if this also does not solve the problem then unfortunately back up your important data and format your drive which has virus....

Quite right NZK.... as long as you're running a reliable AV then there should never be any need to re-install your OS...I've only ever had to re-install an OS once due to viruses and that wasn't one of my PC's.
A little money spent on a good AV can save a lot of money and hassle in the future

naw dont do that. just get a virus scan and quarinteen the virus or delete it completely. if bad comes to worse bring it to the technician or ask a friend to work on it. after all of this then you might want to think about reloading the OS. specially is data has been corrupted. if your having a specific problem add me to friends i might b able to help...maybe
