You are right. Being multi lingual is always advantageous. Congrats for you for knowing quite a few languages. I am fluent in three languages English, Hindi, Kannada. Also I have bit understanding of Sanskrit, Tamil languages. Apart from that I am comfortable in local dialects, which are nothing but the variations in the languages I know. I feel having some advantage knowing more than one language :)

It's terrible to say but i only know English. I have studied German and have a basic grasp of the language but i'm not very good at speaking it. I used to do a little French but i stopped a couple of years ago.

It's not really terrible. Knowing and speaking English is good enough because it is the universal tongue. Besides, i can say its difficult learning new languages which we can't use or practice in our day to day conversation. Thanks for posting!

I know 2 languages, english and french because they are both proficient in my province and the rest of my country. My son knows spanish, and I'm trying to learn it along with him. I think it would be good to know. I don't know why though.. I've never been asked to speak spanish, or ever been to a place where I had to know it.. but it might be good someday.

I know how that feels, like you feel lost. I feel that way when i go to other places even within my country specially when i visit muslim areas they have their own language and very hard to learn. But good thing everybody here knows how to speak the national language and english too, even if its not very fluent.

you are doing great. I only know english. I just know a few words in german and a few in spanish. yes, it would be very good to be multi- lingual. I think if you can speak both languages fluently you can get a good job.

Yes, you are right, there is an advantage to know certain languages as English, for instance, or French.... I can speak my native language that is Italian, French English not very well - as you can see - and I'm studying Latin. I'd like to learn the Ancient Greek too, but I think it's too hard to learn such a language alone.... I'll see.... I don't know....

I only know english very well. I can speak a bit of french and german. I want to encourage my kids to speak other languages, but sometimes I think its more important for them to learn science instead.

yeah, its always better if we speak the language often, in that why we get to practice and improve a lot, and it would not feel awkward. =)
