Why do doctors and nurses not get the praise they deserve? It really makes my blood boil when you hear that nurses and doctors have been attacked whilst on duty! Can a doctor or nurse refuse to give treatment to someone who is abusive? Well here's my thanks to the doctors and nurses of the world, I couldn't do your job and you all need the praise you deserve! Anyone else agree with me?

I think They should definatly get praised, what really annoys me is that these pathetic football player's that cry over a scratch on their knee get paid a hell of a lot more and doctors/ nurses save people lives and they hardly get nothing...
whats so special about kicking a ball on a piece of grass anyway??

Absolutely! Footballers are so overpaid and overrated it's unreal - it's about time the governments around the world recognised how much work doctors and nurses do!

They are underpaid and usually understaffed. Nurses do a lot more than what people think and they never get any thanks from anyone. When ever we need to go to the hospital I always make sure I fill out a comment card, they deserve a lot of praise!

Oh I've never seen a comment card, perhaps I haven't looked, although I did send a card to the nurses who looked after my mother when she was seriously ill. I shall have a look the next time (hopefully a long time away) I go into a hospital.

hey dear i respect ur thought and i do apreciate docs and nurses when they r helpful but i find todays doctors as true professionals they are involved in mainly makin money and then comes their duty.. few dosc. are only genuinely interested with having a patient-doctor relationship.. what do u think isnt it the case with todays docs??

MM not sure whether I can agree with that as in this country they don't get huge paypackets unless they are top surgeons or plastic surgeons! Although I don't think I'm qualified to comment not ever having worked in that environment. Thank you very much for your point of view!

hi bizziebod.
i just cannot understand the idiots that attack the people who are doing their upmost to protect them. i know alot of drunks are in hospital wards on friday and saturday nights which alot of these attacks may come from, but it is still no excuse. you hear of people attacking ambulance staff when they are helping parked up giving treatment. they really are the scum of the earth.
another thing i don't understand is how some doctors and nurses are so lowly paid. some of the most important people we may need in life are rewarded with very little for extremely long hours and such valuable knowledge.
i'll get off my soapbox now!

No you carry on and i'll agree with every word you say. It is absolutely disgusting how people treat our doctors and nurses, it's amazing how they even carry on doing their jobs with the amounts they get paid!!

They choose a very sensitive profession. If you fix a car you somehow have this trial and error thing, but to doctors there is no room for errors b'coz what they're fixing are humans and not machines, so I have this great respect to them. But I also have great fear with them too, b'coz there are cases doctors and nurses somehow bypass there procedures and patients die b'coz of that, and I don't want to be one of them.

Hi myl0taldwin, thank you for your comment, as I have said before doctors and nurses are only human too, if you look at the patients that get well because of them, this far exceeds the few that go wrong!

Well, I dont know which country you belong to, but here in my country India, we pay a lot of respect to the doctors and their work is praised to the highest degree. Except for few cases, I havent come to know about any violant actions against Doctors in my Country.
