It just irritates the hell out of me. if I use a cup etc I'll rinse it out or put it in the dishwasher. We also recycle in my town so I always clean out my milk cartons etc. Likewise if I've any rubbish I'll put it in the bin. But why do some people find it so hard to even bring their plate to the sink!...o it just pi$$e$ me off soooo much!

I think that people are all different..where one is lacking in one thing another is not..like you dont like dirty dishes lying around..others may not like those who curse or swear..both leaving dirty dishes around and cursing are bad habits that need tending too..:)+

For some people it is hard to tidy up after themselves! And, I don't know why. I hate things being dirty.
I have to have things clean, or it irritates me also. Especially my room. I hate it when someone *wink That I share a room with wink* messes it up!! :| I get mad and have to count back wards from 5!! LOL Just breathe!

The worst for me was when I was sharing with 3 lads last year in college (also 2 girls) One of the lads was grand but the other 2 were nightmares. One would leave his plates etc everywhere, the other guy did it too but he would fire actimel cartons around the room and wouldn't pick them up!...it was just a mess.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I hate it when people do that all the time. I just clean after them and not let it bother me too much.

It is a rule in my house that they have to take their own plates to the sink.
And the older children understand that they have to rinse their plates...but some of my children are too young to even turn on the water.
I have an issue with the sink looking like a mess just because dishes need to be done. I don't like it. Once the dishes are rinsed, they are set in a nice stack of likeness on the side of the sink. Then, once the dishwasher is unloaded, it can be loaded again.
Now, if I can just get the younger children to remember to put up their backpacks and coats. *sigh* It is a continuous battle with that one.

I totally hear ya! My husband is like that and it drives me insane!!! I always have to tell him, bring your cup in the sink, pick up your socks, put your boots away, hang your car keys, put the remote in the remote tray, and so forth and so on. It is soooooooo annoying!!! I feel like his mother not his wife! I guess cuz he's the baby of the family, and his mother did everything for him, from washing his clothes to making his bed, until he moved out of the house to come live with me, and now he thinks he'll have a lifetime of servitude on my part. Think again honey!

Good question. I've often watched people walk five feet to drop garbage on a counter - and pass right by a garbage can that was closer to them than the counter was.
All I can conclude is that they don't really pay any attention to what they are doing so they don't realize that they've just made a mess.
Either that, or they believe in pixies that follow them around and clean up after them.

I think it is just a mark of how much disrespect people have for each other nowadays. There is no regard for manners or morals any more.

It is a lack of respect, and some people are just so wrapped up in themselves they don't think about other people..:(

I know exactly how you feel. I came across a plate tonight on the kitchen counter after dinner. I asked my husband why he hadn't put it in the dishwasher and he said he thought it was full. The dishwasher was empty. I mean, why couldn't he check the dishwasher? This drives me mental.

I guess I'm the perfect guest as I always pick up after myself. I'm not a neat freak but if I'm though with something I put it away and I rinse dishes other wise they are harder to clean.

Simple answer.
Can't be bothered. don't care or too lazy.
Really we should accept that everyone not perfect and it does annoy me when things or people don't tidy up. (especially when its your own home and you are left to do it)
But i really think people (including) myself shouldn't bother ourself regarding matters like this. it's life, just enjoy it and move on with life.
make the best of it.
