i tried watching a movie in a theater or cinema all alone. i felt confident at the start of the movie but later on, i felt slightly afraid that somebody with "bad" intentions might take the vacant seat next to mine. after that, i said to myself that i wouldnt go to the cinema without a companion.
how about you? do you like to watch movies all by yourselves?

Actually, I rather enjoy watching movies by myself. I tend to get very engrossed, or just plain lost, in a good movie and don't really want the intrusion of someone else beside me. The occasional comment is sometimes very annoying.
Oh course, this doesn't really apply to chick flicks, because I usually only see those with my hunny. There, I don't mind the company.
I imagine this might be different if I were female and worried about being accosted a lot. Seems we still have a double standard in the US about single women......

No I never ever tried watching a movie alone. Too scared and uncomfortable that I do not have company beside me.

Yes, i watch movies alone... but only at home in dvd. I have never and will never go to the theater alone. It's dark in there and if you are not with anyone, somebody with not so good intentions might take advantage on that. Its better safe than sorry. Besides, i probably won't enjoy gong alone because i won't have someone to hold on to when i get too excited. The more the merrier, right?

I loved watching movies all alone. People have tendencies to speak to the companion about the movies and even commenting. I hate to hear that. I love to pay full attention in the movies that I pay (and its not cheap). So far I have no bad experiences.
Btw, what kind of bad intentions ???
Can't you scream for help, if that bad things happen?

I tend to watch many movies alone whenever I feel like doing so. However if I'm planning ahead I'm sure to invite a friend along. I used to feel awkward sitting at a movie theater alone but you get used to it. It doesn't really mean your a loner, just a movie fanatic too lazy to invite people at the last minute.

I just feel like a loser going by myself! I feel like everyone was watching me come in and thinking "Man, she couldn't even find one person to go with? She must have no friends!"

I wouldn't say I prefer it, but I don't have any problems with going to the movies alone. If there's something out that I really want to see, sometimes I can't find anyone to go with. I don't really feel unsafe because I figure the cinema is a pretty public place, but maybe that's just where I live.
