When i was a kid,i always look down on garbage collectors as im more in high class society and they are garbage collectors should rank in low position.I always like to give that sarcastic look on them. When im grown up,i felt regrets and shame on me for my degraded thoughts and all the insulting i did.
I would like to emphasize here that many people also do give that appropriate look on them, even for the toilet cleaners, maids, people who clean up in food court and all the cleaning jobs.
I think that they are also human like us and we shouldn't have that thought in our mind rite? They force to work in that environment to get fed up their stomach and their life too.
What do you think about my topic here and do give me some response on this.

Not your fault it is actually like this with everyone. I was not from that high class family and my mom was very strict with us in all these matters.
She would always ask the garbage collectors if they wanted water and the maid of our house was treated like one of us. I am married into a high class family but still that habit remains. Even today if I make tea and the maid is there I make some for her also and if I have already had tea then I see to it that I make some for her when she comes.
I have given my child the same habit so I hope that she does not feel like you when she grows up. Thanks for bringing up this topic.

I don't look down on these people. I believe I haven't done anything degrading to them. I respect them as much as I respect other people. Let's just remember that we are all equal in the eyes of God. It's not there fault if they were born in a poor family. At least they're doing a legal job.

I do not look down on garbage or trash collecters. I have heard they make pretty good money and I bet they find some neat stuff at times. I personally couldn't do it especially in the summer but I am glad there are people that can.

I never looked down at people. I guess it was the way I was raised. Jobs were jobs, every person had to work to support there families. Now that I know that garbage collectors makes so much, shoot I wouldn't mind getting a job doing it. Here they don't even get out of the truck, they have machines that picks up the cans and dumps them. Now in the bigger cities I see three, one driving while two of them hang on the back. I know it's got to suck with the cold weather. But with the pay it is all worth it.

No I do not look down on the garbage collectors.Someone has to pick up our garbage. If we would not have garbage collectors we would have to do it ourselves. There is nothing wrong with anybody that wants to work as a maid, or a toilet cleaner. Its a job.We should be glad we have people like that.

In it in the human nature to look down upon someone who is doing some inferior work than that individual. But this is really inhuman !!
Then what about those persons who are not working ?? We should then treat them as untouchable. But thats not the truth, the truth is something else.
As per my view on this issue... we should not look down upon anyone who are working and earning their livelihood. Overall they are feeding their family... they are not clumsy enough to stop working and start begging. Thats the easiest profession that you can have !!
In our country garbage collectors are not self employed but are either employed by government or recycling company. The individuals who are working for the recycling company are paid for what they have gathered. If you see it in other perspective they are actually cleaning up the environment and making our city free from waste plastics.
Hats off to those people who are earning their living with such a noble cause.

I never looked down on garbage collectors. We would have been reeking if not for them! It's their job and they do their best to do it. At least it's better than living off someone's works--like what robbers do. You're right. They're humans too. And it's the more fortunate people like us, who are not garbage collectors, who should help them uplift their lives.

No matter how much you want to change your point of view with regard to the working class like me, that aint gonna change. WHEN the world turns communist, SNOBS like you and me will have to go to another planet. There'll be no space at all for frivolous, skin-deep, materialistic kind of intellect which is short-ranged and unpassionate. How can you feel for us workers when you don't know how if feels to be poor all your life while rich kids like you are looking on in fascination and disgust. In their eyes, we're like caged or wounded animals in need of help. Poverty is the one thing beyond the grasp of those so-called the upper class. How does communism sound for a facelift.

no i don't, they're the ones who collects our garbage and thrashes from our life. without them, we'll be stinking so bad and will be helplessly sick because of our own garbages. they're also people who work for a living. let's be thankful that there are still humans who would work to clean our own mess and our own dirt for us to have a clean living.

I think that the most important thing in a person is his her dignity, no matter what the job, social position, race, religion etc, is.
If you've come to see that then it's cool beans, because nowadays we're in a shortage of sensitive people. I liked your post cause it's been honest about your feelings and i like that.
