I am able to type 40 to 50 words per minute right now as it is due to a lot of practice on a typewriter when I was younger as well as on the computer. Being an instructor, I always tell my students you have to keep practicing in order to get better. That is good that you are practicing and hope that you reach your goal. Keep up the good work. Do you have any typing programs that you use? There are a few good programs in the store like Mavis Beacon and Typing Tutor, which will show you the proper hand positioning. They are not very expensive programs.

I can type 30 words per minute. The best thing is that, I use only two fingers and with that I can type 30 words per minute. I dint use any software for that. My typing speed was increased as I started using my comp for long time. If you want to increase your typing speed to 40 words per minute, then you can use softwares like typing master and other stuffs! Those sites really help you to increase your typing speed!

At the moment I average about 25-30 wpm but it tends to go up and down depending how much time I have been spending on the computer. I am no where near as good as I use to be many many years ago when when I did my secretarial studies 'O' Grade at school lol. I do have a couple of typing programs on the computer but don't tend to use them they are more for my daughters to practise on.
