Freshman Day in High School. What was it like for you?

Was there such a thing as Freshman Day when you were in high school? If so, did the older students do any funny things to them to welcome them or make fun of them. :-) We had this day in our school and they did things to the freshman on the buses. The funny thing is that I was a junior at the time and someone thought I was a freshman. The person snuck up behind me and put toothpaste, eggs and some other oily stuff in my hair. I was just covered in stuff. After someone told him that I was not a freshman he apologized. Did you or anyone you know have this happen to them? LOL I was pretty mad then but can laugh about it now. LOL

My frshman days was very nice because it was only a day of orientation and getting to meet my classmates. Fortunately, during my first day, I sat beside a girl whom I didn't know at the time but after the day, we became friends and she became my bestfriend up until now.

Yea i have one the first few fridays of the school year. it was called freshman friday. They (sophmores-seniors) would put freshman in the trashcans. it was crazy never happened to me though weehh!

Yes, on my first day, I was held down buy a group of girls, and I was covered with lipstick. My hair, face, arms, clothes and shoes. I looked terrible, and never forgot that day. I don't even think it is funny looking back, but mean.

Oh wow, I had not heard of this ever happening to anyone. Did they do this to other students on their first day as well? I am glad they did not hurt you physically. I bet that had to be scary and embarrassing to have that lipstick all over you. It was definitely mean of them.

In my first high school day,my feeling is comfortable and thankful.In our school,in Freshman Day,the older students try their best to help the freshmen,such as helping to pick up packets,finding dormitories,instead of doing funny things to them.All mentioned above may be related to the educational systems in China.When i came to high school on first day,i indeed appreciated this tradition.For firstly i really was at a loss,thanks to the helps of our older brothers and sisters.Consequencely,i also helped the freshmen when i have been here for one year .

That is nice that the older students went around trying to help the newer students. I am sure there are other places where the newer students will get help from the older students at the school. The guy that got me on the bus was also a junior and was surprised he did not know that I was junior as well.

In my high school they called the first friday of the first week of school freshman friday. I happened to know a sophomore at the time and he told that the seniors wait for freshman after school and beat them up and take their money. When the day came I decided to face the music but nothing ever happened to any of the freshman because it was just a stupid rumor that everyone passes around to the freshman only to scare them. I did the same thing in my senior year and it was so much fun.

i moved to a new state my 1st day of freshmen year and knew nobody. i sat in a corner and read a book. 2 girls came over to talk to me...smoking hot they were...then they left because they got bored i guess... i got wierd stares and made no friends...untill about a month later at least...

For me..freshman day in high school was pretty scary..I was always shy and so found the crowded halls and taller students quite terrifyin.. no one put anythin in my hair but they use to call me pacrat..because my last name was pachowicz and that was what they thought would be an appropriate freshman name;)+

It was crazy. I kept getting lost, I couldn't find my locker, and of course, the upperclassmen got a kick out of it. I was not amused.

Yeah, that is just something else. I actually enjoyed my first day in high school. I think it was because most of my middle school friends were there with me. So we hanged together and really didn't care about all the older kids at all. I don't think they even made fun of us either. It was a very friendly school from what I have gathered.

We didn't have Freshman day. We had Senior day...which translated to pick on Freshman day. ha ha
Yes, poor kids would be terrorized by Seniors. But, the good thing with me was that I was friends of some very BIG seniors. ha ha So, no one touched me. :)
I did see kids have to scrub the tiles on the floor that was depicting the school mascot or toilet paper hanging for someone's backpack and a guy covered in shaving cream!!! I am sure he didn't find it funny then either. But I hope he was able to laugh today like you. :)

At my school the freshman always got initiated during the county fair in July before the school year started. Most of the time they just wrote the year of their graduation on your face with lipstick. When school started, they made us go up on stage and sing "I'm a little tea cup". Nothing really bad unless they hated you. Then you got a swirly, thats where they stick your head in the toliet and flush.

We use to call it fresher's day..hehe on that day freshers were asked to introduce infront of everybody and the seniors use to ask quesyions and mock at the juniors lol...most fresher girls use to cry at the end but those are sweet memories NOW...miss high school

they basicly welcome to us ( Freshman ) but our school had something special like a week for freshman so the senior can make fun of us, not in the harsh way though. we have to bring something silly, put make up on, do our hair, use stupid clothes instead our uniform but it was fun.

Well at the high school I went to they had a whole week to where the freshman would have to wear this things around them and every time they seen a senior they would have to say good morning or good afternoon senior and if they got caught not wearing them or not saying that they would have to give it up and during lunch hours the seniors who took their things away from them would call them up in front of the entire people in the cafe and make them do something stupid ( like sing the barney song or something ). I hated when I was a freshman with that week but once I was a senior it was FUN.

Well, we don't have such things in my country. When there are freshmens, we just show them who's the boss, so they won't even try to do something stupid.
When I was a freshman, I remember that it was hard, because of the late hours that I finished school.
Now it's my last year, so i'm pretty enjoy it. Can't wait to graduate :)

My first day at High School was fun but The senior girls also made a jok eout of me. They would not let me and my friend enter the canteen. Then I had this red FOlder in my hand, they started to make fun of it, took i taway and then asked for money. But we just ignored them big time and finally they got fed up and left us alone...

I also suffered alot in freshers day . First when i entered one senior came& ordered me to go my classmate & propose to her. so i was newly entered to collage , i does'nt know about all such things so i refused to do that . He had called the seniors gang
and raged ... it was my unforgetable incident in my life......
i think there must be interaction between seniors & juniors...
