And you gotta love that Earned Income Credit, if you're eligible!!! Anyway, I just did the e-file through the IRS's website. It was so easy. Took a bit of time, just going through everything, making sure it's right. But I recommend if you don't have a complicated return to do, try doing that. They say if you do the direct deposit, you can get your return in about 1-2 weeks. I did the Turbo Tax one, and it was very user friendly. It asks you everything, it's really foolproof. A bunch of the ones on the IRS site were free, some just depending on your situation. Here's a link, I clicked on the "guide me" button, then it picks the best sites for you. http://www.irs.gov/app/freeFile/jsp/index.jsp?ck Good luck all with your taxes!!!

Lucky you! We still can't file until we get missing school and employer documents. That really pisses me off because it is suppose to be in my hand by January 31st! I hate waiting to file when I know I am getting a refund.

Patience is not one of my better virtues either! This year was no problem in receiving W-2s. But two years ago, when I moved, the post office failed to forward my W2s and they wound up going back to the employer! It was mid-February before they finally made their way to me through the mail!

Oh that would suck as well! We've moved, and I made sure everyone had my current address, didn't want any mistakes like that lol.

I use Turbo Tax, and I think this will be my 3rd or 4th yr. doing so, and they are very quick and easy to use. It is Great having a site so user friendly as well. I do not have Children though so I cannot get EIC, but since we are buying our Condo, etc. there are a lot of other benefits we benefit from there though.

Oh yeah, moving expenses, unless you're already living there, which it sounds like lol. The interest, I noticed on the Turbo Tax, it asked about all that info. Good luck!!

Lucky you! Of course, gotta love the gov's arbitrary age limitations on things. I can't get EIC, because I'm only 23. My bf can get it, because he's 25. That's never made sense to me... I work just as hard as anyone else, and I have the exact same expenses as my bf. Yet he's eligible and I'm not. Ah well. Always cool to be able to get a good refund! *^_^* And definately a good thing to be all done and not have to worry about it, right? Go you!!

I didn't know what you were talking about, I just checked their guidelines. I always thought it was just for people with kids or dependents. Well that really sucks for you!!! Especially being so close! Wonder why they'd pick that age??? Well, 2 more years lol :) Good luck on your taxes!! Thank you!!

My friends e-filed and opted for direct deposit. Within four days of mailing it, they received their refund in their checking account. Four days! I get mine professionally done so that I can benefit (and pay dearly) from the Refund Anticipation Loans. I usually lose less than 5% of my refund doing it this way. I filed them yesterday at 4:30 PM EST, received my money at 6 AM EST. But the expedience was due to choosing to have my money deposited onto a credit card supplied to me from the tax preparer!

WOW that is fast!! I'll post back when I get mine. I just got the email it was "received" at the IRS. Being as it's still kinda early helps get it back quicker as well. I worked there one tax season lol. 5% not too bad, I suppose. I'm too greedy though lol.
