or is it that you are ashamed to put the truth down in case you are recognised by someone who knows the real you. I have noticed that members have left out thier gender which is on the left next to the Avataar and also thier age looks iffy. So when we look at the profile we cannot tell if it is a male or female we are responding to!
You can update your profile at any time, and some of the profiles I have looked at are very impressive as to the thought that went into them. Well done.
Be Proud of who you are and let the world know the real you!

My profile is true apart from my age, which I never divulge to even friends, because to my mind, age is irrelevant, is just a number and you are as old as you feel and as old as everybody else sees you. Age is a state of mind, in other words. You can't hide your age, so I put a meaningless figure in my profile.
My avatar also isn't me, but I'm not ashamed to show my real pic... in fact, I always use an avatar which means something to me, and promotes my way of life. Other than that, what you see is what you get... all true! rofl.
I don't think my opinion is general. I think there are a lot of people out there who never show their true identity. There are all sorts of people on computers, and if somebody tries to chat with me on my IMs, I always check their profile first if I don't know them. Then, if their profile is empty, apart from their user id, I ignore them. We all have choices on here, and in the main, I find, people are honest about themselves, but there are some whom you will never know. Even if they were to tell you their true identity and age, etc and post a pic which they say is definitely them... can you believe them? It's debatable, no?

I agree that age is irrelevent most of the time as you can tell from the quality of thier postings as the thier maturity. It is nice to know what gender the person is as to the response we need to submit as sometimes it is hard to tell that when thier discussion is posted.

No one I know is on mylot. So, I'm not worried about that. As far as honesty, I have been as honest and as open as I really want to be. I don't know why gender would really be an issue. It would be significant on a dating site. Yes, some profiles are quite amazing in how they are put together.

I hear ya on that!!! But the newbs, they eventually update their profiles and posts their pictures too. Maybe learning from the lot of you who have updated legit profiles. I am proud of myself! I am proud of myself! oh wait, didn't they say that pride's a deadly sin? :P haha

When you update your profile, maybe you could tick your gender box to show that you really are a female of 26 years of age! And a pretty one at that and it is nice to know that you are proud as well. It is not a sin to be proud either so go for it and enjoy life.

yes it is my profile is really a true one.. i have never been to a cheated status on my profile..
ii belive that internet is also an world which have its own principals and valus which should be followed by everyone. but unfortunately there are peoples who are just voilating the law and pricipals of internet by making fake identities and profile and just playing around.
but for me its another world for me and i really do respect this world because i am also a part of this world fron past 7 8 years and i really want to stick to it for my whole life.

My profile is all true, and I think I share everything except my exact location, which is a safety thing. I do use my real picture, because its my wedding and I love it!

Everything on my profile is true and all of the pics are of me. I dont update my profile alot but everything on there is true :)

There's nothing fake in my profile but I like to keep my privacy.. no real photo or personal information.. Age and gender is an important thing that people should submit accurately because it shows in what you write and I find many people faking things like age gender and a pretty girl's photo as an avatar just to get more friends and more responses.. I don't accept 'fake' friends and I don't like to respond to discussions posted by 'fake' people..

Hi deeeky, My profile is correct although I should have put my age down as 21 lol, I don't care if someone recognises me! What are the chances anyway? Everyone who knows me knows what I'm like and knows how outspoken I can be so I've not got anything to hide!! I did request you as a friend!
