Does your cat like water?

I have a 7 year old cat that truly enjoys the water. When you are done showering, she will hop into the tub and roll around in it. She insists on going out if it is raining and rolling around on the deck. Last year, after we had the deck put in, she discovered that now she can get into the pool! Well, I've found her in it 4 times and a few times found evidence that she had been in it. I wouldn't mind so much, but I'm afraid she is going to rip the liner. Can you believe that she actually chooses to go into the pool? The 1st time was by complete accident, she was chasing a moth and went right in, and other than the initial shock, didn't want to get out! So now, during the summer, I have to be extremely careful of when she is out, I don't want her in the pool if I'm not outside. I think that I have to buy one of those sensors for the pool, so that if the water is disturbed, I know it so I can watch her! Crazy!

Hi there...I also have a house cat who loves the water. If I'm taking a bubble bath he jumps right in and chases the bubbles. It's so incredibly funny, but strange to see. I'm sure he'd jump into a pool if we had one too and I'd be so horribly worried like you because cats do get exhausted from swimming and drown. Anyhow, once in awhile I'll draw a bath for my cat to play in and leave some swimming fish toys for him to play with.
Here's a video of another cat like mine (Bengal Leopard Cat) who loves to play in the bath:

Hey quispy, Sounds like you have one mad cat there! One of my cats really doesnt mind water, he likes having a bath, prefers to drink out of the tap rather than a bowl and even been known to sleep in the sink. I'm not fortunate to have a pool but it would be funny to see a cat going in there out of choice!

Both of mine are curious about water, but they don't like to be submerged in it. They will paw the top of their water dish and splash around for a good five minutes before they drink. They also like to play in the sink while I brush my teeth or wash my face. They are constantly in my way in the bathroom and they track their wet paw prints all over my house. But I love them anyways and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

My cat used to be afraid of water, but now he pretty much does the same things your cat is doing. Jumps in the tub, the sink, and the spray bottle doesn't phase him anymore.

My cat hates to take a bath or to get his whole body wet but an interesting thing... he likes to drink from running water (from the sink when it's running etc...). He will go out in a light rain but hates thunder and would never think of going near running water or a pond.

I have two cats, and they're both different.
Ziggy - He hates water, the sound of water makes him freak out.
Bing - He loves to get a bath, he can often be found lounging in the bath tub. He will go outside through the doggie door, and walk in the rain.
