Do you pay to have your cat groomed?

Do you spend money to have your cats nails clipped or get a bath or anything of the sort?

I don't but my sister in law does. She has a Persian and he can get very knotty. But in the spring time when he is losing his winter coat she has him groomed. I don't think she has it done all the time though.

My mother had a persian and like you say the fur is very thick and can get very knotty and yuck... a cat that definately needs to be combed out almost everyday (if not everyday) but a beautiful cat nonetheless. Thanks Zelo

I wouldn't waste my money. My cat is an outside cat so her claws are fine and I bath her very little as it's just such hard work which seems to upset her.

What if your cat was not an outdoor cat and was an indoors cat... then what do you do? That is great if a cat lives outside and takes care of itself but what if it is part of a house and family? What to do then? Thanks Zelo

No, I have been bathing my cats since they were 12 weeks old. I haven't had to clip their nails yet. I'm not sure how well that will go. I have no problem clipping my dog's toenails, but cats can be vicious.

I know what you mean there. Trying to clip a cat's nails is horror. I try to be as humane as possible and usually use a towel to wrap him up and then let one leg stick through it at a time... that is the best way I have found to do it without looking I have been in a fight with someone afterwards. Thanks Zelo
