I think Irfan pathan should be in the team though he is bowling form is poor. I think he can be a good alrounder and can get good runs down at the order. Most probalby he would get form by the time of worldcup. What is your opinion? Should Irfan Pathan be in Indian team for the World Cup or should India pick another batsman or bowler than Irfan pathan in the World Cup and the playing eleven?

I think he should be in the world cup tea. Although he is not in a good form as a bowler, but he can be a usefull option as a pinch hitter when team requires him in the world cup. He just needs one good spell of bowling to get back in the form.

I also agree with you. He needs just one good spell of bolwing to get back in the form. He can certainly get some very good runs in the low order especially if the match get tighter and if he needed to get quick runs. He is back to team after proving fitness. I hope he does not get injured during the World Cup.

It sounds like he is a good player from what I am hearing, so I do not see why he can't be in the world cup team.

If sehwag is in the team why cant irfan be included in the team, if sehwag deosn't pefroms and still selectors give him a chance on the basis of match winning capabilites of sehwag has, why cant Irfan be included in the side, Irfan is great asset for India, India must use his services effectively

Is the hope of India back on track. My answer would be an "n" followed by a loud "o".....NO
Looking at Irfan's figures after the match where his economy rate was about 6 an over and he took one wicket most would argue that the performance was reasonable after his dubious performances in the last few months. But that wicket was a result of brilliance in the field and his bowling figures were against the lower order of a plundered side. The way marlon samuels smashed pathan for sixes and fours...it was painful..5 out of 6 balls pathan was bowling clocked at less than 125 kph the odd one crossing the millitary 80 mph mark..
Pathan never was a fast bowler...agreed!!He was a swing bowler..yes i still am mesmerized at the thought of that banana ball the inswinger to a right hander that pathan had mastered. On close observation all the tense words in the last line denote history.
Not a single ball swung for pathan. He came in as first change which to me was a tactical blunder.Pathan thrives with the new ball and should have shared the new ball with agarkar.God forbid ,had he failed there was zaheer to fall back on.This new role that pathan might be asked to take up of a bowler like Robin Singh or Chris Harris would not benifit either pathan or the team.Irfan was never a vaas who was emaculate with line and length..And moreover if that is the case then it also tells me that pathan would become another utility player and we might not see him in whites again

i thinks that irfan is needed for world cup 2007...moreover he is an allrounder which makes him suitable for worldcup ...he has an indian spirit and he has capability to bring motivatin to his subplayers..

His bowling has not been through the best of times in the last one year. But his past performances must be considered and has to be retained in the team.He must be included in the team primarily as a bowler. If the team thinks of keeping him as a batsman they can pick a specialist batsman in his place. The selectors did a good job giving him another chance. He should be allowed to be in the team for the world cup.

I think Irfan is in the form of his life. he has been playing well in the last recent matches. With his current form, I think he should be playing in the team. he will be a good asset for the team in the worldcup.

I think Pathan should be give chance. although he could not ball in last one day against west indies, he had given more than 70 runs in 6 overs only. but as far as world cup is concerned, there must be three pace bowler from indian side. otherwise we will fail to fight. previously, pathan's record has been too good and he bated well in lot of game. so pathan should not be ignored at least world cup.

Its something bad to drop out Irfan Pathan out of the world cup squad just looking at 2 series where is had performed bad. He will definite been an inportant all rounder and a excellent bowler with other pace bowlers to team India. With him in the squad the bowling is definitely be the best and also strengthen the batting upto the last.

irfan pathan should be picked in the team only if he can swing the ball like the good old days. the way he is bowling at the moment,he is nothing but cannon fodder! he is trying to bowl way faster than he is capable of and in the result has lost the most important weapon in his limited armoury, swing. have you seen the guy trying to bowl a bouncer?!! i mean come on!!! the guy can still hit the ball a fair distance and is a clean hitter but his bowling is just not good enough for an event as big as the worl cup.

he shld be in team...
he is a great player...
he is not bolwing that bad..and also he is a good all rounder...who can bat well...he had prooved his batting many times...I think the selection commitee is always hard with him..they can give many chances to Yuvraj, Sehwag and other players...but they dont wana give any chance to irfan....after hitting a century in SA he was not in team...that was really strange....
