Does your pet's personality match yours? If so, in what way?

Many pets seem to show some of the same personality traits as their owners. Although this isn't true in all cases, I have seen it quite often and was wondering how many of you have noticed it in your pets. My cat can be sweet and lovable one minute, and a complete brat the next. She must take after one of my kids. Do you have a pet who acts just like you or someone else in your household? Tell me about it. I would love to hear your responses.

Some friends kept our dogs a while back and their teenage daughter said one of the dogs had my personality and the other had my husband's. Of course the one with my personality is a little grouchy, not quite as outgoing, and the one that acted like my husband is very friendly and outgoing. I have had Lucy (the dog like me) for 14 yrs. , long before my husband and I met so its no small wonder that we have similar personalities.

I'm not sure if they get their personalities from us or if it just happens that way. Did you name your dog after yourself, or did someone else name her Lucy? Just curious...

Hello! I don't have pets, but my friend does & her pets personality is quite similar to her. My friend is well mannered & very systematic girl. So, her pet (Dog) is also like that. It is really disciplined...vani^_^

That is nice for her that her dog is well disciplined like her. Thanks for your response.

Yes, we have a puppy from last litter of mini dachshunds that we didn't sell. She is in the house and a total brat. She is very hyperactive and reminds me of my oldest daughter who was into gymnastics. This little girl's energy is amazing. She flies thrrough the house like lightning and plays all day long. Oh...and did I mention that she gets into everything? I've never had a puppy get on my buffet or kitchen table before until this one. So yeah...another trait that reminds me of kids!

On the table and the buffet? Yep, sounds like she is into gymnastics, just like your daughter. You have to love all of that energy though. I've had a couple of the ones that get into everything though, and that can keep you busy.

I would have to say that the dogs are most like me, they are generally nice but if someone rubs them the wrong way or they pick up a weird vibe from them, they won't even so much as look at them if they come in the house. We don't have cats, aside from me not trusting them (that's a whole different post) they make me sneeze like crazy!

My daughter's dog is great with just about everyone, but once in a while someone will come to the door that he just doesn't like and he will stand at the door and protect me whether I like it or not. I don't think he would hurt them unless they made a move towards me, but you never know.

I think my husbands dog definitely takes after my husbands personality. My husband is a bit of a spaz and is really daring. If we're out hiking, my husband jumps from rock to rock with a 100 yard drop inbtween them without even thinking. His dog does the same thing! He's a tiny little dog too. His dog loves birds and he'll jump off a cliff to try and catch that bird without second thought. The dog is a spaz and so is my husband.

I can just picture your tiny dog making those jumps. I hope they are both careful though. It would really worry me.

"Beauty" is my big girl "calico cat" and yes I think her and I are similar in personality. She doesn't like to be fussed around with. She will come to you if she needs you, otherwise she requires no assistance, lol. She's moody at times, but sweet and loving. lol too funny huh, but yeah that's my girl, she's just like me. I could go on and on, but lol, I'm sure you wanted me to narrow it down. :).

I seem to have been right about pets being very similar to their owners. I think that we all get moody at times. There is nothing wrong with that. Beauty sounds like a very sweet cat.

My kitty is so special and our personalities are so compatible. I don't know that she is like me though because it's hard for me to describe myself, but we definately have a special relatinship her and I and I am the one in the family that she is closest too.

I'm glad that you have a special relationship. Even if you don't share the same personality traits, it doesn't mean that you can't be very close. Thanks for your response.
