You don't earn anything directly by giving someone a positive (+) or negative (-) rating. However the person you give a positive rating to will earn a little bit more money and if you give anyone a negative rating, then they will earn a little bit less. The same way if you give someone a "best response" they will earn extra money as well. Again you do not directly earn any money from giving it to someone else, but if you rate discussions properly, then it is likely that others will do the same for you. This means that if you get a positive rating or a best response, then you will earn extra money. The way to do this is to start really good discussions and to give good quality responses. A couple of words is not a quality response at all and always read through the discussion, rather than just the headline, so you can comment on what the person is saying. Personally I prefer to respond to discussions more than start them, although I have started about 80 discussions over the past 5 months I have been a member. That means that I can easily read each response, rate them, give out a best response to someone and still have time to respond to other discussions.
