I do enjoy gardening and landscaping. I see it as a sence of relaxation. I have been doing it for many years now and truly have enjoyed it. I cannot wait to own my own home so I can have my own garden and grow my own vegetables. Nice Topic.

I love being around nature..thats one of the reasons I loved this house so much...we have a total of 50 acres and a good 47-48 of it is woods which is nice...I really enjoy gardening as well but havent been able to have a garden since moving here but we had two fabulous ones back in Canada....my husband was in charge of the flower garden out front and the veggie garden was mine..This yr I'd like to get the gardens started at least...mainly the veggie garden because I love having fresh veggies in the summer from my own garden but I also would like to have
- Butterfly garden
- Medicine Wheel Garden
- various flower gardens
- a memorial area in the woods (my kids picked the spot out already) with flowers etc
- little herb garden

I don't really look at gardening as enjoying nature, but more as a stress reliever. As for nature, I am fine as log as there aren't many bugs. I truly hate mosquitoes! I try to keep a flower garden no matter where I live (I am a renter!). My favorites to grow are the wildflower varieties such as cosmos, bachelor buttons, daisies, and baby's breath. I am hoping to try my skills at carnations, columbine, and forget-me-nots this spring. I prefer perennials from seed! I have never planted bulbs, but I have inherited them before. I don't see that their upkeep was any different, but you need to separate them if they become too crowded. Anyone out there have a bulbs-only garden?

It's so amazing. I am not a gardener, and do not profess to being one either. But I do grow bonsai trees, and I find them so theraputic. I prefer to grow them from seeds, but my first one (a Chinese Elm) was purchased as young tree.
I think to watch anything grow from such humble beginnings is a humbling experience itself. I nearly cried when my Japanese black pines didn't make it past the seedling stage for the first time of trying (they take about 2 months to germinate the seeds before planting alone, so it was a long time to wait for them to pop up, and seeing them die a few months later was kinda heartbreaking). But I understand this to be nature's way now. It really is survival of the fittest in the plant world too.
Thanks for giving me the chance to rave about my bonsai passion for a few moments hehe.
Love and light.

I love being among the nature...but i hate gardening lol. trekking is great, you go to a forest or a mountain and you walk and contemplate and feel the fresh air...but gardening is something way more artificial than that. I know many people love it, they find it relaxing and the truth is that a well taken care of garden looks great, but i don't like gardening that much really.

I enjoy being one with nature so much that I chose a house with a garden as frontage for my home. This is a luxury in a place like Mumbai, where I live, which is a concrete jungle. The small garden space has provided me with my green pocket and I love to do the gardening myself as it provides me with pleasure and exercise.
