Opinions Needed: What happens to the kids after a breakup???

In my case my children stayed with me. However it was a joint decision. We agreed right right from the start that it would be better for me to be at home with the girls as it would be better for them to have one of us home and I have a lot more patience than my ex. Now we have split he didn't even question the fact that they would stay with me. He hasn't got the patience to do everything for them all the time. He has them for one night a week which the all look forward to and can see them whenever he or they want.
This works really well for us at the moment, but we are still living close together. I think if either of us wants to move it might cause a real problem.

Yea see as long as it is a mutual decision I think it is fine, but I think too many times the woman thinks she has the automatic right to up and take the children.

I am a single mother of two little girls and i have no idea why this is so but it is! Personally i took my daughters Father to court for custody at two seperate times and he never even showed up so i was awarded my custody! The funny thing about it all to me is that he never showed up for custody at all but he showed up for the child support part of it. Typical i guess that he would show up when it concerened the dollar signs!
