i use both, on daytime i use my 5.1 logitech z5300, very deep and nice bass so its not suitable at night so i purchased a closed type earphone, i was able to find a steal, i found the A4 tech AH810 headphones to produce very strong bass but for a very cheap price, for only about 8 bucks

I think headphons are the best.it is easy to use and also no disturbanse to other peoples. So head phones are the best.

I use speakers during the day and headphones during the night, as I live in an apartment and the neighbors can get mighty ticked off if I have base thumping at 3:00 in the morning.

I have both and I think headphones really has a more quality output than my sub-woofer and 2 satellite speakers. But I still use the speaker if I really wanted that extra bass and treble effect but since I can only use it during the daytime (not too early though), I tend to just use the headphone so I won't have to reach behind the CPU every time I want to switch between both. I still prefer using my headphones when I'm playing games at night or just sound tripping. But it really depends on your location or for which purpose you are intending to use it for. I definitely won't be using headphones if the sounds for PARTYING!... Whooo! ;P

If what I am listening to is mainly for background noise, then I like to use speakers. However,if I really want to hear it ,I have to use headphones.I have a hearing problem so I need to turn up the volume but I do not want to bother my neighbours.
