Not selecting a best response

I'm pretty new here, just been around for about 5-6 days but I've noticed that when people post topics and for those topics that actually do get responses at least one of those responses is a great one and doesnt get credited as the "best" response. But thats only half of it. The other half being is do you even think that once a person make a topic they check back on it to read the posts? Or they just check for the number of posts? Dont mistakes me theres a lot of great people on this site but for every great person there is an equally "non-great" person that is just here to earn cash.

I always check back on my discussions and read and rate every response I get. I also choose best response, even though sometimes I wait a bit, to see if any more responses come in. I like to have a good selection before I choose. Sometimes it is tough to choose a best response. And what we feel is the best response in someones eyes, may not be how the discussion starter views it. I have noticed it too. I try to choose the one that I feel has the most command on the discussion, is the most honest, and replies to the discussion in full. That's just how I do it.

I have been here for 12 days and some of my discussions haven't got enough replies for to choose a best response yet. I have my friends alerts set to notify me of new responses. I do read them and respond to them as I get time. I have chosen a few best responses to some discussions but I have a few that are still open.

YEah, I do the same and it also take time to understand all the useful tips over here. But I think do not skip every responses others reply as that is the way keep you more active and im sure you will get the respect from those who willing to talk to you.

I always read all the responses that my discussions get and rate people with + unless they were spamming.. I give best responses but may leave some slow discussions for a long while to receive more responses before i award a "best response" but eventually all my discussions will have a best response selected :)
